I was thinking that detail fanatics are a certain breed of individuals , basically the best of humanity hahah... Out of Curiosity, you keep your car looking emasculate right? So, what kind of condition do you keep your home in?
Have you ever been referred to as a clean freak, OCD etc or consider yourself as such ?
Are there any other ares in your life you take the same care as you do your car, your house (specific room) work space. etc?
I don't like to think of myself as sexist however I have too admit I was picturing a women being a kitchen detail fanatic buying numerous high end products in order to get the kitchen looking like a sub zero show room, and well it just done't quite have the same intrigue or glimmer as car detailing too me. There nothing to say car detail fanatics have to be men... and yet I assume the majority of members on here are. Well what are your thoughts.

My house is usually neat and straight. I will let it get a little out of control at times but it doesnt stay much more than a week with things out of place. Car I am more nutz about and garage too.

Since I got a new car, and took up detailing as a hobby, I totally reorganized the garage for that hobby. Changed all the bulbs to 6500k temp and high lumen bulbs, which allows me to waterless wash and all in a closed garage. Also moved a lot of stuff around to give me more work room, and to organize my detailing supplies.
I got 3 of those 27 gallon black and yellow plastic storage things from Costco for my supplies.

As for the inside of the house, my wife is a great house wife (no sexism), she cleans the bathroom, sweeps often, and takes care of the kitchen.

BTW, I waterless wash in a closed garage, cause I'm in California, and don't want to get reported for washing my car lol.

Nothing has changed. We both still cook and clean prior to my new obsession entering my (our) lives. She does like her car being shiney an clean all the time, and so do I. She's a wonderful woman, that's why I'm glad she agreed to marry me.

Peace,

Darrin

My house is a mess... Tools, supplies, woodworking materials, car and motorcycle parts can all be found throughout my house. Dust and dog hair too LOL.

But my garage, my truck, and my two bikes are impeccably clean!

I am an evangelist of neatness and orderliness too. My kids hates me for that most of the time. How I take care of our car is the same with how I want it inside the house. Too bad, I can't live with it everyday--not today. My kids are still 6 and 10. They can't help but leave anything they get hold of anywhere they want to. They can turn the car upside-down any moment.

Ahem......

I am a women detailer, Queen of OCD, etc.

My house is as clean as it can get it living with a husband (LOL), 2 greyhounds and 3 cats. I also do the gardening and keep all 5 vehicles detailed.

My husband isn't a slob, but not as nearly as clean as I am. He's OCD about his tools in the garage, and the electronics wire management, but beyond that he gets a C in my grading system :D

I have 3 kids under the age of 5. I'm lucky if I can keep up with the interior of our mini van. My cars are used to test products and longevity so they're not the cleanest.

Time with family is more important than a clean car. Everything is different when it comes to working on others cars. I'm not OCD, more like ADD. Yeah like that really helps when it comes to detailing customers vehicles...

I am the most OCD person I know, besides my parents. My car, house, workstation at work all stay very clean and organized. If something is out of place it gives me anxiety. My kids most likely hate me for it and probably my coworkers too. ;)

I have never been one to spend hours on a weekend cleaning one room or the entire house. I prefer to clean everday, working in short quick bursts to keep things organized. People criticize me because I am always cleaning, which is somewhat true but it only consumes a very small part of my day because I know where things belong and move quickly. Those people spend 3/4 of their weekend cleaning, doing 30 loads of laundry, and washing piles of dishes. I prefer my way. Same result but my way, as I tell my kids is "working smarter, not harder!"

Ty...thats why I like this site. I feel to a degree people here get where I am coming from. When I quote things from this site I usually get the same response, "You belong to a detailing forum?"

I tend to keep both my car and my house immaculate rather than emasculate. Even though I have a to die for wife I'm still in proud possession of my boys :)
