Hey guys, I have a major issue here that I need to get addressed quite quickly. I recently purchased a 06 cobalt SS for an amazing price mainly because it needed a boat load of TLC, which I was more then happy to provide as long as it wasnt in too bad of shape mechanically and hadnt had any frame damage.

Aside from the paint being shot to #### on most of the car, one of my major issues right now is one of the previous owners used some sort of object that was not glass safe to remove snow or ice from the windshield and put very large scratches across the entire drivers side of the glass.

Although i cant feel these scratches at all on either side of the glass, they are visibly very large. I have tried all manner of glass repair techniques that I can do from home with my porter cable. From everything from 3000 grit wet sanding, to glass polish, etc. None of these attempts have helped the situation.

Ive researched alot of company's that use the "glass renu" system to resurface damaged glass to avoid replacement, however i have been unable to find any place local to south jersey that is willing to do this in an automotive application.

Im not sure what I should do here, is there a kit I can buy that I can use with my PC to resurface the glass, or should I just save the money and get the entire windshield replaced.

thanks evan, ive actually been a member of autopia for a long while, i read that guide you posted, and i actually bought most of that, although i still couldnt get the scratches out for some reason. Maybe the LC glass polish i was using was just crap because all it really did was make more circular scratches. It's getting to the point where its very difficult to see out of when light hits it from oncoming traffic at night, thats why Id like to nip this in the bud pretty quickly.
