Hey, wouldn't it be a cool idea to have a grab bag every month?

Something along the line of $5 or $10 for a random bag of grab (detail supplies of course)

Where like (made up numbers)

50 people win something worth $1-3 dollars, such as applicator pads, a microfiber towel, a cobra towel

25 people win random samples, brushes, empty bottles/spray bottles

10 people win 16oz random stuff such as WG Sealant, Powerlock, Ultima Paint guard 4oz etc

1 lucky person wins a premium wax such as Signature series, mini fuzion, P21S 100% carnauba?

Wouldn't this be a fun idea?

That'd be trying to put the company out of business just saying. You got to imagine how much they would be out with shipping charges and stuff. I'd rather AG stay in business than have free stuff, but hey that's just my opinion. :props:

As awesome as that sounds, I just don't see it working financially for AutoGeek.

Usually when companies do this (I'm thinking woot is the inspiration for this idea here), it's stuff that's about to be wasted (old stock, old formulas, etc), or isn't selling well at all; it's a way for the company to make money on something they're about to trash or aren't making money on anyways (also reference $1 bins at your local stores). It works very well for the companies who do it, and is becoming a very popular way to dump off stock. Why do you think BOGOs and Free Bonuses are offered?

And as far as shipping costs go, the OP never mentioned free shipping :)

Yeah I got the idea from sites like Woot and thought it would be a fun idea...but like others mentioned, I totally forgot about shipping. Would only work if something along the lines of *spend over $95 as a requirement to add to cart; only offered during free shipping block*

As far as AG losing out, I sort of figured the tier 1 people who got the lowest costing items (paying $5 for a app pad etc), their "left over" money goes towards the tier 2 money, etc etc so it ends up even.

The BOGO area and free sample with orders essentially does alot of this, and allows end user to actually pick what they want/need.

This sounds like a bad idea for AG and a good idea for 86 random people. I kind of like what AG is doing now. They have contests and giveaways all the time. (I just won a really cool prize, in fact.) As mentioned, the BOGOs already satisfy our need for a great deal. Not to mention the Weekly Rollbacks and other sales that are going on all the time. I want to see AG thrive, not give stuff away that they can't afford.
