I'm sure that copter can be a life saver. Hope they don't need it for that purpose.

The key is they will have for when they do need it, which is after the storm passes.

It's safer in a reinforced building like AG's HQ than at a hanger. I could post tons of pictures from past hurricanes where aircraft were destroyed or damaged from hangers collapsing.

All the tankers from MacDill flew out over my house today, and those hangers a pretty solid.

Rule 1 is move it out of harms way.

Rule 2, if you can't put it in the most reinforced building.

Example A, Hurricane Andrew Homestead AFB 1992

Homestead AFB was never the same after Andrew, it was basically abandoned and later turned into an AF Reserve Base.

I'm pretty sure I heard some F-16's flying north over my house today too.

Wife is a first responder. Can't tell you how thrilled I am to see AG helping out with that helicopter. You guys are awesome!!

I suspect she'll be asked to go to Florida next week assuming the Oregon issues are tamped down.

Whatever your plans are, may the powers that be watch over all of our AG family down there.

Best of luck to everyone in Irma's path.

Good luck and prayers to all the Floridians here.

That's awesome of AG to do. Stay safe Mike and company!

It's unsettling watching the news and seeing in real time the hurricane approaching us.

The water surge levels the are now predicting for Key West and west Florida is simply hard to imagine and the sad thing is we're not going to gave to imagine as the images are going to be streaming via TV and the Internet as long as we have power.

:dunno:

Everyone stay safe. Hunkered down the best we can here. Irma heading further west, better news for us east coast geeks but not so much for our west coast brethren. You all be careful & heed the warnings. This is a nasty storm. Extra prayer for everyone!!
