I noticed the two dates, but is there a specific day and time that there will be plenty to do? ;) Just started a new job and would like to work this in if I can...and/or if you needed another alternate. :pc7424: :buffing: :hungry:

In my life I've learned not to force things, by this I mean things in life should kind of fall into place, when they do it's because it was meant to be.

As soon as you have to start working at making something happen like in working hard at it or forcing it... then it probably wasn't meant to be in the first place.

I'd love to have a swirled out black GTO for the project car, especially if the "My Classic Car" camera crew can get some really good before shots of the swirls in the paint.

The before video is the most important video because the after video doesn't mean a thing without the before.

So while I really appreciate you wanting to bring the GTO to the show if you have to get a tow rig and a trailer then you're starting to have to "work" at it.

From years/decades of working at car shows, I'm confident we can find a swirled out dark colored car.

Car runs and drives great just can't do a car seat in the back because there aren't any seat belts in the back and we've never driven it that far lol. It would make me nervous.

Hey Bill,

Congratulations on the new job. The detailing portion will take place on Saturday, probably starting in the morning and going till afternoon, that's kind of general but it's also the primary portion of when all the action is going to take place.

For anyone reading this that has read the write-ups I post for our Thursday night projects.... think about it...

We bring in a wiped-out car covered in overspray and filled with swirls and scratches and take it from a diamond in the rough and turn it into a glistening gemstone in about 3 to 4 hours. That's usually with a team of about 8+ guys all working together.

That's basically what we're doing in Kentucky just not inside an air conditioned studio.

As to your questions...

Do you need to bring anything?

You don't need to bring anything, we will have everything with us as we're bringing iVan fully loaded for work.


Any information on the agenda?

1. Nick, Trey, Andre and I are arriving on Thursday.

2. We're meeting up with Dennis Gage and his team on Friday to walk the line and obtain our demo car.

3. Sometime and someplace we'll have a GTG (Get Together), at a local establishment for anyone that is in town Friday night.

4. We'll all be meeting at our location on Saturday morning before we get started, I'll have more information like specific times etc. on Friday after we have set-up, picked our demo car and met with show personnel and Dennis and team.

5. According to the information I have "right now" we'll be doing the buff-out starting Saturday morning and finishing whenever we get finished. I don't think it will take more than 3-4 hours to from start to finish with a team of guys like you and the rest of the guys helping out.

6. As for "teams", we are the team. We'll probably use the Buddy System where I pair guys up in groups of 2 and each group of two guys works together on a specifics quadrant of the car.


That's really about all the information I have right now. This is the first time we've taken on a project like this here at Autogeek.

In my life I've done complete car buff-outs at car shows all by myself in booths inside shows like World of Wheels and Seattle Roadster Show, Portland Roadster Show, etc. and by myself it's a lot of work so I'm happy to tackle this project as a team.
