Is this just a fluke or do flies actually breed like that?

I have some pictures and some videos, but then all the sudden half way through the detail I stopped because my phone ran out of battery lol

Great job guys, those cars came out great!! It looked so much fun and it looked like you guys got very clear weather!

Question on the Charger R/T when you were doing the engine bay. I plan on doing the engine bay on my Bee and was wondering what you guys covered prior to washing/detailing it.

Also, I'd liek to mention it is going to be my first engine bay detail so I don't want to mess anythign up.

Thanks

I can't wait until you guys do this again...I will definitely be there!

Looks like you had a great time getting some awesome cars to shine.

You need one of those juice cases / extra battery packs! -- if you're familiar with what I'm talking about lol

Yeah the weather worked out pretty well until ~8 pm
I'll let one of the others chime in more on the process used in the engine bay

I'm glad the weather worked out great for us. The funnies shall be posted up later. I haven't had time to organize and upload my media yet but will hopefully complete it tonight.

For the Charger, we covered the alternator with a plastic bag and saran wrap. Several "suspicious" wires were also covered.

First we sprayed APC all over the bay. Let dwell for a few minutes then hosed down with water moving it from each side of the bay.

Once rinsed, we sprayed it again with apc and used the daytona brush and painter's brush to agitate the cracks and crevices.

One more rinse and it was time to dry and add some dressing. The leaf blower was pulled out to blow out most of the water then the waffle weave came out for the easily accessible areas.

The dressing we used was CarPro PERL, a sample from Steve (Becciasm). Great stuff btw, I'm thinking about making an order on some of their products.

The engine bay detail is a scary concept but with common sense and caution, you will have a beautiful and clean outcome. Good luck!

engine bay came out great - yes, caution used and common sense was exercised. PERL is pretty sweet.

I must say, I was truly impressed with the homebrew protowax samples - my favorite was the first one I tried on the wheel, 36. It seemed the hardest, with the highest claimed carnauba content - 40%, but once it was warmed up in my hands it applied well, a little went a long way to spread, and it buffed off with ease.

The difference in shine of the 3 samples I tried was negligable, but the application of the other two (27 and 30) was a bit more 'labored' and not as user friendly. Good job Drew. Take your time to further develop the formula to where you want it - don't rush just to post pics! :props:

and they all smelled great! did someone say toostie roll? (27) :hungry:

The final shots of the charger and the gti with the protowax look good.

I came to see the nice Charger I was talking about in the other thread...
I left with the image of flies going doggy style burned into my head

Had a fun time despite having to leave early. If anyone is available the 4th we should have a Detail/4th celebration lol....Charger came out great guys!

Thanx for sharing , great results , nice Get Together there ! Grea results of your ProtoWax also !

Oh good. Disclaimer: physical exhaustion combined with no coffee and not being a professional car-care anything resulted in my interviews. :)
