Well, good fortune didn't follow us this past weekend to the Summit Racing Equipment Nationals. We struggled a bit in qualifying with our "backup" motor ending up 17th in the 32 car field. During the first round of eliminations it looked like we were going to upset the #1 qualifier as we had a huge starting line advantage, but just past half track the engine let go and sent parts flying out the side of the engine block! Uggh!!

We have the week off to regroup and than its some "home cooking" as we head to nearby Joliet, IL for the NHRA Route 66 Nationals. We just picked up a brand new motor from GM Racing and it should give us the power to get it done next weekend!

Its a big race for us, not only will we be hosting a ton of friends and family at the track, but be competeing in the JEG'S All-Stars that will be run in conjunction with the event on Saturday. Its basically the best of the best from across the country squaring off in a special 8 car race. We've won the All-Star event the past two seasons and look to be the first driver to ever win three-straight titles!

So wish us luck next weekend as there is a ton of bragging rights on the line and money thanks to the people at JEGS!

Check out the pics I've attached and you can see some of the engine damage from last weekend.

That does not look good at all, we wish you all the best for this next race!

Thanx for the vid!

From an old/ex drager...many memories of the line wait.

The "racing gods" seem to be frowning down upon us right now. Two weeks ago at the NHRA event in Columbus, OH we qualify #1 and have the field covered by a rather substantial margin and get rained out on Sunday...postponed till Sept...uggh!

Things got worse last weekend in Michigan, we qualify conservatively #3, than hit eliminations aggressively and are in a position to dominate. After winning the 1st two rounds convincingly, we suffer a rather significant fire in the quarter finals that not only ends our day, but significantly damages the Autogeek.net Chevy Cobalt!

We are working around the clock right now to get back up and running for the next race Aug12-13th. To be honest the damage is extensive, the car needs to be completely stripped, rewired, all new electronics from front to back as well as body work inside and out. Were down, but not out...we still have another NHRA Championship in our sights, we just need the "racing gods" to let us do our job!

Hopefully we'll see some of you at an event down the road!

After alot of hard work (and even more money spent, lol) we made it back with a vengeance, qualifying #1 and making it to the final for the second consecutive week.

Despite the adversity we've had as of late, we sit #4 in the National points standings with our sites set on another NHRA National Championship. Its not going to be easy, but if it was, it wouldn't be worth it!

Below is a link to an article about us on a popular import racing website and a few pics from "after the fire" at the NHRA Nationals in Brainerd, MN.

If you look up the word tenacity in the dictionary you'll find a picture of Bruno winning...

Thanks Mike, I assure you one thing, we'll never lose a round, race or Championship because we were lazy!

FYI- I’ll be a guest this Sunday on the Bumper2Bumper radio show at 11:10am ET. The program has a strong NASCAR fan base with deep penetration into the southeast, it should be fun!

You can listen in from their station’s website: WNOX-FM

Bruno Thank you very much for the article and the Shout out on AutoGeeks Forum. Much Appreciated. Hope to see you soon around more import events. For all you guys that like Import DragRacing feel free to visit www.InsideDragImport.Com and see all the fastest imports. From 4Cyl engines, to Rotary Engines, and 6 cyl as well. Once again thank you Bruno & Autogeek for the opportunity.

Thanks Ryan, Unfortunately I have to skip this year's race at Indy for a tv job I'm working on all week. Its a tough one to miss, as we came within one one-thousandth of a second of winning it all last year...but we'll be back at it next weekend and hard at it until the Middle of October.

Massel, who also won in Atlanta earlier this year, moved up in the national standings to the fourth position with his win over current No. 6 spot occupier Clint Neff in the Comp Eliminator final. Neff out-witted Charlie Stewart, Greg Porter, Raymond Martin and Alan Ellis but saw red in the trophy round when he launched .025-second too soon. The title was the third consecutive for Massel at the historic facility and marked his sixth overall national win in ten final rounds.

Congrats! This has a lot more horsepower than our FSAE car does that we are building! You must really smash those bugs thin when you hit them!
