autogeek univ how to remove scratches

Hi all,

In autogeek university under how to remove scratches there is a procedure to wet sand a scratch then use a rotary backing plate with an adapter on a 7424xp to remove the sanding marks with 4" pads.

Question:

there is a DA backing plate available for 4" pads what would be the difference between the rotary backing plate and the DA backing plate, will either one work for this procedure?

If you are using a PC7424XP, a 3.5" DA backing plate with 4" pads will work best.

3.5" Dual Action Flexible Backing Plate- porter cable 7424XP hook and loop backing plate 3.5 inch.
Lake Country Hydro-Tech 4 x 1.25 Inch Foam Pads, Hydro Tech Foam Buffing Pads, spot polishing pads, pads for water based polishes

the procedure call for a rotary backing with an adapter and a 7424xp I was wondering why and if a DA backing plate would work

In my opinion it shouldn't make a difference at all. But I would stick with a DA backing plate. They are made specifically for DA polisher.
