Autogeek's Saturday Detailing Clinics

Last summer we started doing Autogeek's Car of the Week on Thursday nights and it was hugely successful. We had both the owners of cars and people that were interested in learning more about car detailing driving for hours, sometimes hundreds of miles away to join in the fun.

You can find
the cars here,

The last Thursday night project was right before SEMA and since then we've put the brakes on these projects until Detail Fest is over. Well it's over and it was a blast but now it's time to get back with the program.

Format Change
The most common requests were getting from people attending or people e-mailing and calling us about our detailing projects is people asking us to switch these to Saturday's to make it easier to plan a trip to Stuart to attend.

Max always listens to his customers
After having a few meetings to discuss the format we're happy to announce that we'll be starting up a new series of clinics to be held approximately two Saturday's a month.

I'm working on a schedule and should have it posted to the forum this week.

The new format for these clinics will be like the format I started at Meguiar's in Irvine, California called TNOG's or Thursday Night Open Garage Clinics.

Here's how they work,
We open the Studio from 9:00am to 2:00pm and during this time you can bring your car, truck, SUV, Boat, Motorcycle, or whatever it is you would like to learn to detail and we'll show you how to,

  • Evaluate the current condition of whatever it is you bring to Autogeek
  • How to choose and use the right products and tools for your project
In most cases we'll only be working on a portion of your project, for example, if you have a car with swirls, we'll buff out the hood and in the process teach you the right techniques to do the job professionally. After finishing a panel we'll allow someone else to bring their car in and help them with their project.

By doing this more people can learn how to detail their own car but then finish it up on their time in their garage.

This is the format I used for the TNOG's and this is the format we're going to use here at Autogeek.

Autogeek Store Open for Business!
One of the issues with the Thursday night clinics was all the regular Autogeek Staff had already gone home so there was no way for anyone to purchase any products. By moving the Thursday night clinics to Saturdays, we'll have a full staff so if anyone wants to purchase anything we can accommodate you.

This means, you can try before you buy!

It's a win/win deal for everyone plus I won't be here till midnight cleaning up on Thursday nights each week! Im the MAN

That's the plan so start spreading the word!

What do you guys think?

Mike, as usual this is a great idea :xyxthumbs:

It really opens up the opportunity for more people to attend and gain the knowledge necessary to achieve the desired results :buffing:

Thursday evening is tough for a lot of people, but Saturday morning is a win!

Looks like a really nice approach and format. We need press for AG roadshows across the country, maybe even set up distribution locations across the country as well. AutoGeek Retail Franchises across the country!!!!!

Just to add...

Special Projects
We still will have a couple of "Special Projects" that come up, things like "Special Interest Vehicles" where I'll need a team of people to do either an Extreme Makeover or a Show Car Makeover!

Live Stream
And we might even stream these live! That way people that live to far away can watch an learn to see how we tackle different projects.

Of course that means Yancy will have to get out of bed on a Saturday too...

Here's Yancy setting up the Webcam...

I love it! I am moving to Orlando in three weeks, and I have always wanted to stop by the garage! I can't wait!

Wow, that's great, you guys always seemed to have a ball on those TNOG's.

We did! And while we worked on a lot of normal type, daily drivers we also had plenty of classics, hotrods and exotics too!

Well if you ever plan a trip to Florida try to schedule it for one of the clinic dates.

Count me in on giving a hand as long as I'm off from work I will be there :buffing:

I enjoyed Detail Fest and would definetly drive 3 1/2 hrs back to stuart for these clinics on saturdays. :props:

I'm just happy to hear your (insert name here) is coming back Mike!! You, Adam, Robert, and the rest did a great job on those thursday night shows of showing people which products do what and how! People then knew what to drop in the cart for later and just as important you guys really entertained!

I'm sure the new saturday clinic will be just as great for all parties. :)

Mike, your making it difficult for me to come out and play......j/k

It's going to be a lot harder making Saturday's open garage, but you know I'll try.

"We're only going to aim at doing two clinics a month that way I'll still have two Saturday's off each month to work on my own car projects or go to car shows..."

don't forget time for family and friends...

So if I fly into FL from Indiana, I can bring my rental car to detail a section of it? Oh that would be a blast!!!!!
