Well as awesome as. AG was for going out to Nebraska and doing that whole deal out of the goodness of their hearts, its just not something they can go around doing all the time I'm sure, especially not for free, that's for sure.

Detroit has some very good detailers, Auto Lavish and Classic Appreciation to name a few, so high-end detailing is there, guess you haven't been around I guess. Auto Lavish is on www.xceedspeed.com and show off their work all the time.

Got a pic or two you can share?

OH boy, I've done it now..... I was strolling down memory lane and when I saw the Pontiac emblem in his avatar it reminded me of the side marker on my 1968 GTO Convertible I owned back in the day....

This is one of a very few photos I have of my 1968 GTO Convertible AND my 1970 Plymouth Cuda 440-Six-Pack.....Note the date on the photo....Sad is the only way I can describe it......

Couple gems there! Thanks for sharing:dblthumb2:

I agree that Autorama would be a great venue for AG. It's amazing how many swirled out cars you see at these type of shows.

The NAIAS is just a big showroom for new cars and concepts, so detailing there is pointless but as far as Autorama, well, there sure is a lot of swirled out cars there, its just what the classic car scene has become. When you go to these things there's a lot of older people just livin' the 60's and using burgendy bottles of M and calling it a day, they're so set in their ways there's no changing them. Besides that, have you seen some of the owners of these classic muscle cars? Not even sure how they even get behind the wheels of them, sad bujt true.

I've been going to cruize nights since the late 80's and its basically the same crowd, Elvis worshipping, double cheese burger eatin', swirled paint inducin', set in there ways bein', crying kid dolls on the fender placin', dressing like there's a sock hop happenin, cherry bomb rubblin' and lastly, import bashin' (even if the cars out perform there's in every aspect they say "it ain"t Merican" and its garbage unless its a V8)

Good luck getting through to that crowd!

I think it would be cool to have an AG booth at Autorama. There is defintely a lot of swirled paint and maybe having AG there can educate some folks. I will be attending both NAIAS and Autorama. I imagine the auto companies pay for the detail work at NAIAS, those cars look perfect when the show first starts. I have attened during supplier week but never noticed anyone detailing cars though.

That's just Metro Detroit, now that you're in Chicago you see a whole new world. Most of the country can appreciate all makes and models!

Hey now... I "resemble" that remark.... (sorta')

Elvis was a pretty cool dude. (until he turned into a fat ol' drug addict)
Cheese burgers are for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
And Cherry Bombs.... oh my... I had some of the best times of my life sitting on top of two of those puppie. ;)
And I hear ya' on the "it ain't Merican". I remember back in the early 90's when the US Government started really pushing CAFE standards. Ford's LTD/Crown Vic was killing their overall fleet mpg so they had most of their parts made elsewhere so the car itself could not be added into their "Merican" fleet, thus helping their fleet MPG standards. Hmmmmm.....
And yes, the new import V6's are stronger than most (not all) of the V8's I grew up with, (60's ~ 70's muscle). Yup, I did have some that were pretty strong 'in a straight line', but I'd put my lil' G35 (without any real power add on's) with sport handling pkg and 4WS against any of them on a road with curves in it. Ju' sayin'.... ;)

Hmmmm, I need to go get me a cheesburger!

Ain't memory lane a Bitc$.....
Seems we both threw away cars that were 'junk' then that are gold mines now.:dunno: I remember when Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth cars were a dime a dozen. And don't even talk about how bad the starters whined, how bad the fit and finish was, and the total lack of anything like handling, stopping, steering. ;) OTOH, I had a 440 that'd make it to the end of the road in time for me to take a nap B4 some people got there. (And a 302 Ford that'd pull the front wheels of the ground as well.)

When my wife and I started dating she was driving a 67 GTO that we couldn't WAIT to get rid of! Yep, memory lane, what fun.

Cardaddy.....you get it!

I had to deal with the "Woodward Avenue" generation at the local cruize nights when I had an 87' Grand National, modded and running mid 12's and a semi-daily driver. One guy would say that's not a muscle car to my face and I said "really....why?" He said its a V6 and I said, "your right" and would point at the engine and say "there's 231 cubic inches and the other 231 cubes is the turbo!"...then get looked at funny. Then I'd state the "stock" torque number....355 ft/lbs @2000 rpm, mine was modded and had closer to 500 ft/lbs with the mods I had (turbo/inj/FMIC/tune/exhaust/intake/fuel system upgrades)...getting 27 mpg on the freeway. Even with 120k on a stock engine/trans and twice wasted valve springs and trans it put down a best of 12.6 @109 w/ 1.91 60 ft time....memory lane right there for me.

Been dealing with ignorant dinasours for years and its never going to change!

I remember stopping by Tasca Ford in East Providence RI looking at a brand new 1970 Boss 429 Mustang. I "believe" the sticker was about $4900 which was way too high for my budget in those days..... I cay again......

Bobby, how old were you in 1970? Based on your avatar picture, I'd put you around my age (46).
