Average time to polish a car (2wice) with 3401?

Hey guys,

For the purpose of giving an estimate, how long would it take to polish a medium sized car (nissan maxima/toyota camry) twice over with menz sip and 106ff with the flex 3401?

Interesting thread, answers from 4+ to 10+ hours.... depending.....

So, what stage are you starting at? The 1st polishing stage? Wash? Are you including tape-time? Are we talking about a full detail.... tires, wheel wells, glass... or just talking about the pure 2-stage polishing steps? Although people are bound to work at different speeds depending on experience, tools, facilities and other variables, I gotta wonder if we're comparing apples to oranges in some cases.

I've never tried to figure out just how much time I spend on just the 2-stage polishing part but I know on a full detail I'm looking at 12+ hours from when water first hits the paint to getting that last corner of the windows.

You guys are making me feel better about myself. (Thank you, I needed it.) Usually when people find out how long it takes me to detail the car or how often I detail the cars I generally get the comment, “You are crazy!” or just strange looks.

What can I say, it is relaxing and like an addiction to me. There aren’t many people I can be open with about detailing. The passion just isn’t there.

Wow, unless you have very nice paint to start off with that easily cleans up I would be hard pressed to finish a 2 step polishing job in under 10 hrs. 4-5 hours is flying! how do you guys break down your polish that fast and yet still remove the swirls.

Agreed... I could never finish a two step in 4-5 hours.

10 hours sounds much more spot on if the CC is agreeable and not rock hard
