I've been reading this forum for about a week now and am really interested in this magical world of detailing. While I sit here waiting for the bulk of my products to arrive in the mail so that I can really get down to business, I figured I could at least use what I already have to start practicing. A little degreaser and Stoner's More Shine, along with the info I've gleaned from you guys let me clean up the engine bay of my 2000 Ford ZX2 S/R. Let me add that other than the performance mods, I've never cleaned this engine in the 7 years I've owned the car (bought brand new, daily driver through Ohio winters and now Florida summers and salt air). I'm getting ready to sell this car to my sister in a month since it's been overshadowed by the new (to me) Corvette and I want to make it presentable to her.

The Corvette got me interested in taking care of my cars properly, so now the ZX2 benefits as well. This is my first shot at any sort of fancy detailing, and exterior shots will follow as I accomplish them. Just wanted to let you all know that you've helped me immensely by posting your examples, and have most likely created something of a monster! Thanks!

Nice job on the engine bay Paul.
Well done.

Very nice job on that engine bay, Paul! Now that's what I call a clean engine.
Thanks for posting your instructions and tips on my thread. I definitely need a hose!
