This weekend I finally when home and detailed my first car. Alot of memories have been made with this truck, all through high school, and moving too Orlando. My family does not believe in taking care of trucks. They are made to work, and get banged up. I didnt get into detailing until I baught a 06 Acura RSX-S. This car has only been waxed about 5 times in 7 years.:( Alot of oxidation, scratches, and eched water spots. The pics are taken with a disposable camera, the before pictures dont show just how bad my truck really was. Just imagine a black truck that has 110k miles on it, and basiclly never waxed.

Process
Wash w/ ulti-mitt, and Gold class, boosted w/ ARO = 1h
DP Clay = 1h
XMT #4 w/ orange 5.5 pad, and my PC = 6h
Menz 106 w/ white 5.5 pad
Pinnacle Painwork cleanse
Wolfgang seal

The wolfgang went on just like Liqiud Souv. and it is the slickest sealant I have ever used. It took 6h of polishing with the Xmt#4 to get all the oxidation off. I will be able to practice anything on this truck. The whole thing needs to be wet sanded. I didnt dress the tires or wheel wells because my dad is just going to ruin that first. He already cut down some trees, and palm froms, and will use the freshly detailed truck to move them out.
Thank you to all the people who replied to my other threads. All your advice really paid off.

Mike

Holy crap man. When I saw the XMT 4 I knew you had a job ahead of you...and those pads look like something Venom threw up. The work was worth it though, very nice job!

Thanks guys, I am still trying to clean those pads. I really liked the wolfgang seal. It looked more like nuba than a synthetic wax.

Very nice turn around, got a really nice wet look to the truck. Question, where you able to remove the scratches completely from the truck?

I agree with you Wolfgand is a great product and looks great :righton:

Thank you for sharing.

No way! The scratches on this truck are from 7 years of hard work, and not caring about the finish at all! I got most of the wash swirls out, but there are alot of deep scratches from loading stuff in and out. Also a few dents/ scratches from falling gravel, sod, hay bales, tree trunks, bags of everything, and two golf ball dents. (used to work at a country club.)
I will get alot more out on the next round, when I learn how to wet sand.

I am thinking of using the wolfgand seal on my EVO without a nuba topper. It looked that good on the truck, now that I have a digital camera, I will post pics on that detail also.

Nice job! :applause:

Have you tried Dawn Power Dissolver on the pads?

I think I'm going to be sold on Wolfgang sealant...it might just be my first sealant I'll ever buy. Great job on the truck! Sucks your dad is going to use it to haul trees, but the job was worth it. What did you parents say when they saw it? If I saw my son/daughter detail my vehicle, I'd be in awe and try not to ruin the vehicle :o

My parents didnt really understand why I was detailing the truck. But, Once they saw it after I was done they were amazed. They didnt think I could do that to the old truck. It was def worth it, I will be practicing everythin on that truck. Get the wolfgang, best sealent I have ever used.

Thanks to all for the compliments, Mike

Do you have the Pinnacle Pad Cleaner? That stuff gets out some serious dirt.

Huge difference and very nice job. Wolgang sealant is soooo smooth, it makes the paint feel so good. The pads will come clean from the ss paint, it just takes a little more work to get them cleaned up.

Well that doesnt look like a beater any more, great work and i guess you just "sold" some wolfgang sealant. looks great, how did tyhe 106 work for you..

Good luck cleaning up those pads...he he

I lost my XMT cleanser! Just when I need it, I have hardly used it!
Oh well, I am currently using dawn, and folex, and rinsing very very well.
Its working slowly. I will post some pics later today.

That was not single stage paint, it was just dirty. haha

The 106 worked great. The first time I used it I applied way to much.
I primed the pad with one long line down the pad, and then I used 2 dime size drops. I didnt even have to use a 50/50 wipe to get it off. It came of very easy.

Damn, what a turnaround! Sweet work, really brought that black back to life!
