I currently have Megs backing plate and pads. Is there a better plate than this? The pads seem OK but I'm a noob. Whats your opinions?

I prefer Lake Country, but that's only my .02

Dont know the backing plate specifically, just make sure it is flexible. Works when you are rounding edges. As for pads, Megs and Lake Country offer some of the best.

Thanks. Seems like the the glue on the backing plate has come loose.
I'm using 8006 for polish and 9006 for the LSP. Car is better now. Going old school and putting on #16. I have 2 cans! :)

Never got to try it , heard it was quite durable for a carnuaba. Got axed with VOC regulations so must have alot of solvents, or mineral spirits.

As a former user of Meg's backing plates I 2nd that. Also you can drop the backing plate and go with the Edge2000 system.

Hee, Hee, the can says it's contents are combustable! WooHoo, fire!
I have slowed way down, lookin better. Ran out of XMT 2 so I,m back to Megs 80. Seems like I'm reminding myself slow down.

The 5' flexible backing plate I got from Autogeek doesn't seem very flexible.

I've gotten 3 months (almost 4) out of a coat of #16. I'm holding on to my 5 tins it looks great on white.

my 2 pennies.....I'm LOVING my EDGE 2K pads......simply the best pads I've used to date.

What do you love about them? Is it just the convenience or also their performance?

Both.
They work with all my polishes so well. They are holding up amazingly tough. I've hit windshield sprayers, headlight nipples (yeah, that's what I call them!), and emblems with no tears to any of my pads. I do half of the vehicle with one side and flip it over and finish. Perfect alignment everytime. Adhesive is strong as heck too.

Cannot go wrong with these. Can't wait for some 4 inchers!

ARe you convinced yet of their durability? Not knocking them, just inquiring.

I use them on about 2-3 Vehicles per day.......mostly SUVs. I wash them eash about 2 times per day. No failures at all. You're not having to rip and pull them off the plate....this will save them.

Very durable.

:iagree:, so worth the money. Durability is top notch, they just have this solid, quality feel to them. Haven't torn mine even getting caught on parts of our vehicles that should have.

Justin,
Do you think the E2K pads cut down on your polishing time.
How much time would you say you save..
