So I am in the middle of working on a friends car that I need done by tonight and my velcro backing plate just separated. I am trying to use some automotive sealant to glue it back together as a temp fix. Is there anywhere that I can get one locally? Half his car is swirl free and I need to do the other half. I am not thrilled right now. As soon as I have money I will be ordering the Edge pad system.

Thats sucks, have you tried looking for an automotive paint supply store?

Long shot but it might work for a temp. fix. Epoxy 5 minute glue (The two tube stuff). Maybe span the crack with some type straps epoxied on the plate. The reason that I suggest this is we used to glue a golf Driver head on a shaft with this stuff. There's a lot of torque to a golf club. If you can't get some at a local hardware store call a golf course and ask for a little. Good luck. Sorry about the breakdown.

We got him all fixed up... he lives in our neck of the woods!

Damn right Meghan to the rescue!!! I'll post up my experience after I finish working on the car.
