Backing Plate

Just curious how long a backing plate lasts.
I am a weekend warrior and will be using my cheap HF Bauer da on my own car twice a year.
I bought the Casoman 5in backing plate (a pack of 2) and the SPTA backing plate.
So, I now have 3 backing plates.
Thinking of returning either the 2 Casoman's or the SPTA. Do I need 3 backing plates?

At your rate they should last you a lifetime. [each 1 of them]

They are more likely to wear out due to age than use if you're doing two cars a year. I would return the others so they don't die from age while waiting to be used.
