I washed my truck today (2 bucket method) and all top of the line products used .I checked after washing to see if maybe I needed to clay it ( 6 Yrs old never clayed or decon'd) so i put my baggy on and check it and it almost feels like sand paper just real rough feeling so I clayed it for the 1st time and after i finished i checked it again and it almost feels the same...
Question pollen is real bad today and i noticed ( outside washing and claying ) that pollen started getting on vehicle within 5-10 min of finishing.Would pollen feel that bad doing the baggy test ? I didn't really see very much contamination on clay while working with it.Just curious if anyone has felt something similar to this ? All products purchased from here . When i finished it in bright sun it looked great or I thought so.Truck is 2011 Ford so CC finish
Thanks for any insight or recommendationsFeed back please

Which products did you use and what was your procedure in claying?

Would like to know your procedure as well.

Did you chemically decontaminate? Fine clay? Medium clay?

I would use a waterless wash to get the pollen off a section of your car, for example, then quickly do the baggie test. If smooth, then it's the pollen. If it's like sandpaper within seconds of wiping down with the WW, then you need to clay more aggressively (or properly).

Sometimes you just need to do a lot of claying...

+1 on claying more! I’ve have multiples cars where I have to clay the horizontal surfaces and the rear end of the car more than 4 times! As soon as your clay starts showing contaminates renead and clay again until your clay comes out clean. I just used ironx for the first time and it significantly helped break down the iron particles. Would definitely recommend.

Stuff like this is why I always make sure to have a Med Grade clay towel available. It works way faster than clay in situations like this.
