Ok this is my first post on here, been lurking for a while and finally decided to post up.

My girlfriends mom has a 08 Tahoe, its pretty bad off. Ive been doing my own detailing for a few years and told her that i'd help her out and detail the interior for her and then next weekend do a paint correction on it. Now the paint correction I have down and my process with the outside is solid. But the interior im pretty lost

My car is pretty much flawless from my constant detailing and it never needs anything more than a light cleaning so I have no experience cleaning really dirty interiors. But this thing has badly stained carpets and door panels...I mean BAD and the stains are all over the interior. Im going out and buying some APC and some brushes this weekend but I have no idea what APC to get locally and what mixture to use, 2:1,3:1, etc.

I was planning on using the apc and brushes to aggitate the stains, let them sit for a while then vac it up with my shop vac. Then for the stains on the door panels do the same. Then for the leather seats I have some CG sprayable Ph Leather cleaner and conditioner but I am thinking I will have to use some APC on those as well or maybe some 1z Cockpit before I use that stuff. Any improvement to this process would be greatly appreciated.

Btw, thank you for such an informative and awesome forum. This forum has helped me out tremendously.

I personally use Meguiars APC and APC+ in the gallon. Which you may be able to find locally believe it or not. Try looking for a local auto body shop distributor.

the megs APC is recommended at 10:1 for light cleaning, and 4:1 for heavy soiling.

I have a steam cleaner now for nasty jobs. but for light cleaning, i'm quicker and almost as effective with APC, spray bottle, and a MF towel.

Anything other than megs APC you would recommend?

You could try folex on the carpets. You can buy that at Home Depot or Lowes if I'm not mistaken.

Something else besides product. With it this bad, my counsel, whatever good carpet product you use, or diluted cleaner, [and I have used some prods diluted verrry little to get some results] make sure you go slowly and with patience.

You probably will have several applications to get things clean--and you MAY not get it all. But go about it methodically, breaking up the dirt, getting the dirty water/solutions out and away, and then attack the stains and imbedded dirt again, and again if needed. Sometimes being willing to go at it several times wins in the end. Most folks are way too impatient with dirt and grime. It WILL give way. Good luck on your adventure in impressing your GF's mom. :dblthumb2:

I appreciate all the advice guys, I was thinking whatever I decide to go with that I wont have to dilute it much theres a lot of staining. I dont have a lot of patience so I guess I will have to bite the bullet and just take my time on this. I have learned with detailing, to get the results you want you have to take your time. Im going out to look for folex, megs apc, and anything else yall suggest to get those gross stains out
