Bad Oxidation on Mustang

I am still planning on a repaint, but this allows me to have a decent looking car again until I can afford to.

Thank You for all the kind remarks. Hey Al, easy with the POS remarks, this is my first car and my baby. :p I know that first picture is very scary.
Sorry dude, you're right the first pic was scarey. I was trying to say that you did an awesome turnaround to something that looked impossible to do from the start. No hard feelings? :) Nice first car btw. I wish I still had my first car, it was a 72 LeMans, that thing kicked.

We all understand about first cars. Mine was an '81 K car - a Plymouth Reliant. OMG. It is the reason I hate Dodge/Plymouth/Chrysler today. I could tell you horror stories. Timing belt broke at 40k. Ate brakes (rotors and pads) every 10k. Catalytic converters went out. Carburetor had issues. It ate through like seven (or more....) alternators. Electrical switch replaced.

Ten years old with 65k on it and I was able to get my first real car - my beloved burgundy 1991 Honda Civic LX Sedan - my first love - with my first real job after college. And the paint? Oxidized so bad .... tan...ugh.... it gives me nightmares just to think about it. For those of us who are Gen X or older, it reminded me of Christine, from that movie, the evil car? I started calling it Christine.

I was towed so often my tow coverage was dropped by State Farm - no kidding. I can't begin to explain it all. The engine dismounted from going over one of those car stops in the parking lot....
Now don'tcha feel glad to have that well manicured Mustang?
Nice, nice work. I know I could not have done it!!
Kudos!!

Al I was poking fun back, definitely no hard feelings. A 72 lemans, where is the drooling smiley.

Lauren, sorry but your post made me laugh. When I bought my mustang back in High School everybody was like, that is a Ford, it will die every week. It truly has been the most reliable car, until of course I starting playing with the engine to make it go faster. Anyways, you most definitely could do this if I can, heck, I wish I would have videotaped myself. I could have won the 100,000 dollars on americas home videos....:awesome:

I was pretty sure you were OK with that because of the :p you posted. Yeah, my LeMans was sweet. Great car to have in HS only I was too young to know what I had at the time. Isn't that always to case?:o

Too true, I just wish I would have grown up when those cars were fairly new. I would love to have a 1970 Boss 302. If you can't tell I love Ford Mustangs!

By the way, this is my 200th post. :righton:

Lauren, you are such a trouble maker. ;) A reliant is in my top 1,000,000,000 cars that I would like to own one day.

admiting ever owning a K-car is quite a stand up thing to do

thats very brave of you

REAL NICE TURN AROUND. now i know i will be getting xmt line. one more thing. i cant believe how many fellow MUSTANG(FORD) peopl we have here. all the ford i have owned never let me down. 89 stang was flipped street racing(i was younger. about 15 years ago) me and buddies flipped her back on her tires and i drove her all the way home.

Nice job

nice job..... I wish I had known about this detailing stuff 22 years ago when I got my 65 mustang....

It is amazing how many mustang lovers there are on here. I can't believe you flipped one and drove it home. That is crazy!
