Bad results with PB Black hole

Hi people

need some feedback and experiencies with this product. ive researched a lot , and found very impressive results with this product both by hand or da.

my experiencies werent so nice.

it did nothing for me , not cover 1 imperfection , instead it showed more ( at least to me )

This is what i did :

Wax polifoam applicator
shake the product


ipa wipedown
apply PB BH thin on a small 10x10 area , work it in. ( straight lines)
Let it haze
buff off.

Nothing.

again

ipa wipedown
apply PB BH thin on a small 10x10 area , work it in. ( circle motion)
Let it haze
buff off.

Nothing.


Then in another panel

ipa wipedown
apply PB BH thin on a small 10x10 area , work it in till it clears
buff off.

Nothing

Again

Then in another panel

ipa wipedown
apply PB BH thin on a small 10x10 area , work it in. ( circle motion)
Let it haze
buff off.
let it cure for 1h
Wax

Nothing


What i am doing wrong?

you know its not gonna fill anything when u still see the swirls under the hazed product.





last attemp , heavier coat , more dry time , more cure time.

 
IMO I think your expecting way too much from Blackhole. I know that it says light swirls and imperfection but what you have on your car would be what I would think it would hide or mask.

I would think that it's more like love marks very very light scratches from drying.
 
You're expecting way too much from any glaze, even the next generation of self-leveling glazes with slight correction abilities like CG Glossworkz, and most certainly the older Black Hole or White Diamond.
 
I found that you really have to lower expectations with glaze. They are good for VERy light imperfections in my use with them but they can help add some nice depth and gloss
 
Dude, black hole or any glaze for that matter is not magic. The way I use it is after compounding/polishing to get it from 95%corrected to as close to 100% as possible. That's besides the fact that I find black hole to work better applied with a DA vs by hand.
 
Thx guys , what you are saying its what i thought originally of the product but... then if thats true then ppl reporting different results have to be flagged as liars? ( dont wanna offend anyone just parafrasing )

it does not show the finish prior to applying the glaze , but u can see the big difference in both left and right of the test spot...
 
After reading the above i must tell you this.

First off, you're going to get MUCH better results working this product with a fine polishing pad on a MACHINE. I mean MUCH better. Also, most of the things u posted above show very light defects. Your paint on the other hand (no offense) has pretty serious defects. Again, black hole is an amazing product and is a must have for dark colors, especially solid ones. Different paints react differently, that even applies to things like glazes.

Edit: By the way, black hole should be worked in to the paint until there it is crystal clear. There should be barely any residue after working it in.
 
To be clear , i never expected that bh would give me polished-like looks on my paint , even less with hand application.. but what im saying is that it didnt do anything at all , and most of the reviews i found people stated they where hand achieved.

There is no difference at all , when u apply something like a polish u can see at least some difference on the white haze a swirled paint has, and that too is the case on many reviews i found, so thats what i hoped for , to give the paint a darker and clearer look
 
I know what you are saying but I think what you have on your vehicle is just too severe to see any difference.

The paint looks pretty trashed for it to do anything of notice. Especially by hand.

I've had great success with CG Glazes when applied by machine! Try the machine route.
 
If you don't have a machine, you may have to back it up and light compound/polish. Then try the BH. I personally wouldn't IPA after BH, but throw on another layer and let it cure before removing. That's probably the best route for your paint by hand. :xyxthumbs:
 
thx guys , scheduling for polish work is due next month. Guess ill leave the bh on the shelf for now , maybe as u said ill have success with little imperfections
 
All the time you spent with that glaze you could have 90% corrected 3-4 panels with a DA and MF pads.
