Bad Water Spots...grrrr

A pal of mine has really bad water spots on his Benz. I fooled with it today: Rude washing with CG Citrus, then WG clay, that was an improvement. Polished with Menzerna Power Finish, that was an improvement too. It's a lot better than it was, but truthfully I feel defeated. A lot of the spots remain and are laughing at me. It's almost like the clear coat has been deeply etched?

Help.

What pad where you attempting with the Menz PF?

What pad(s) did you attemp the correction with the Menz PF?
How many section passes did you take?What polisher did you use for the attempted correction?What speed did you implement with the polisher?

I used a Cyclo with double sided yellow pads which did a great job, then tried a rotary with the same yellow pads. (I have a piece on my rotary that allows me to use these pads.) I'm not an expert with a rotary so I kept the speed down to about 1500. It would be bad to burn paint on an 80K car. He's a friend, but not that good of a friend.

i was just in my garage today. i had water spots on my windshield and horizontal surfaces. from a wash a few days ago. i used diluted vinegar and they all went away. i just put in an AGO order for some other stuff. had duragloss water spot remover in the cart, but i removed it when i saw how nicely the dilute vinegar worked. no elbow grease at all. obviously these spots had no etching, which i hear takes polishing to remove.

I didnt chime in because i was wondering why someone driving an 80,000 car would let you continue your learning curve with a rotary on his paint...:nomore:
 
How many passes did you make and how slow was your arm speed, how much pressure did you use... any pics of the damage your trying to remove?
 
I just did a envoy that had water spots on the windows . I tried d151 on a white lc pad with the DA and it did very little. I switched over to d300 and mf pad and they came right out!

Maybe because he likes the way I make his black Lexus LS460 look?

I've heard of this before but never tried it. What ratio of distilled water to white vinegar should I try? Leave the soaked MF towels on the car how long? Or just apply by hand?
