Badge Removal

I've got a 2009 Altima and I want to remove the rear lettering and Nissan badge. I think I can use a fishing line and work the things off but what would I use to remove the remaing glue???

Any suggestions?

The lettering is glued, but the round Nissan badge is bolted through, I believe.

I've done this a couple of times to remove dealership badges from family vehicles. Here's the technique I use:

- Heat the badge up with a hair dryer. Don't use a heat gun because that's too hot and could melt the plastic or damage the paint gun.

- Get some dental floss and cut a piece large enough to grab with both hands. Work the floss between the paint and the badge in a slow sawing motion.

- Once the badge is removed, use some WD-40 and an old credit card to scrape off any remaining glue. WD-40 is perfectly safe for the paint.

- There may be some marring on the paint from where the badge was glued on. I use a 4" orange pad on a PC7424XP with either Meguiar's Ultimate Compound or Optimum Hyper Spray Compound to remove this.

- Don't forget to apply your favourite LSP to this area.

- Once complete, if done properly it should look like the badge was never there.

Thanks to all for the replys. The round badge was glued not bolted. I used some fishing line I had around and it worked great. I used the 3 M wax and adhesive remover and a lot of elbow grease and it worked. Went over it with 3 M scratch remover then WG paint polish,2 coats of NXT2, and finally 2 coats of Sovergn. Came out great like they were never there.Im the MAN
