Hey guys

What is the method/product used to clean off really bad baked on brake dust. Scrubbing the wheels does absolutely nothing.

I tried some wheel cleaner that I sprayed on and used a small nylon brush attachment for a drill that worked somewhat but not too great

Thanks

Pics would be helpful if you can provide them. What wheel cleaner did you try?

I'll chime in with my new favorite. Sonax. I've never had much problem and always use ceramic pads, but when I got my Audi I noticed how quickly the dust became a problem. So far, Sonax seems to make the best stuff and it is wicked expensive for a brake dust cleaner. But it works.

Here is a pic, I just used some Meg's wheel cleaner I had laying around

Apparently I can't attach a pic I keep getting a file error message

Sonax wheel cleaner + is excellent and my favorite.
I can't say anything nice about the price.

For factory painted silver wheels I will use Meguiars wheel brightener if they are old and neglected.
Either way if they are bad a soft agitating, rinse and repeat is the best method.

Download the TapTalk app on your phone. Pics are very easy to send using TapTalk.

My go to is Poorboys World Acidic Wheel Cleaner. Able to buy in smaller quantities then a gallon jug off McGuires wheel clear er and it’s probably the same thing.
