Tips for removal? Handed down a black highlander that's been neglected, paint its pretty dry and moderately oxidized on the hood and roof. I pressure washed it which took majority of sap off. I tried some sap/tar remover let it sit for a few and it didn't seem to phase it. Any tips or advice would be great
 
I had good luck on a black Tacoma with some ONR in QD dilution in the sun. Let the sun heat up the sap for a few minutes, soak some ONR on the drop of sap then wipe off.
 
Rubbing alcohol has taken off any tree sap I have encountered.
 
A method I found to work quite well. Use a Nanoskin DA attachment to knock the main lumps of sap of easily. Then TarX on the residue/stain that's left underneath. Let it dwell for a little bit and agitate with your finger. Note that you'll likely have to polish after using the Nanoskin DA attachment. It takes contaminants off real fast but leaves some marks behind ... but sounds like you have some polishing ahead of you anyway. lol

Saps has prob been stuck there for months and months :(
 
Um...what happened to that first one? I usually encounter sap in very small droplets, not big globs, but that first one looks really weird--obviously from the scratches around it you have already worked on it.

As others have said generally a (mild) solvent is indicated for sap.
 
If you don't have any luck with above methods you can use a razor blade or a plastic one. I have used razor blades on paint to remove vinyl and would likely work but you gotta be extremely careful. It is already scratched so it's gonna need polished anyways.
