I was driving through a small Texas town on Saturday and decided to pop into this place called "Bargain City". Apparantly they dealt with liquidiations, foreclosures and all that good stuff, so what the hell, right? Perhaps I could find a huge stash of Megs #16 in the back!

Well, I didn't find any Megs #16 but what I did find was tons and tons of boxes just stashed full of this "Prestone Buff" car wax. And apparantly it had some natural carnauba in it! It looked cool in the little tin, but I bet this stuff was SO old since the boxes were just caked full of dust and cobwebs. The price was $1.88 per tin!

I also found a few boxes full of tire gel applicators. They were only 3x for $0.98 so I should have bought some, but I still had some so I was good to go. I know a few of you would have bought them all!

I just thought I'd share my story with you...

small local hardware stores are also a great place to find old stock. Mom and pop's type deals.

so you bought the wax - you going to tell us whatcha think of it, piet? how did it look upon opening it, since it was not vacuum sealed?

What a fun find. It looks like there might be two different types of the tire applicators, straight and curved.

Haha, I did not buy the wax actually! Since Prestone is a company that makes anti-freezes and engine oils, I wasn't sure it was going to any better than what I already have in my arsenal.

Hey, it could have damanged my paint!!!

what town was it?

Probably close to you: Stephenville, TX. My parents-in-law live there.

Did they have them Megs round yellow pads? I think they went away with the #16.

Should have got a tin for show and tell!LOL!!

You're right Sparkie, just for old times sake!!! I'm sure they'll be there when I'm in town in a few weeks, HAH!
