Basic setup for a city dweller

Hey all,
Looking for a basic "kit" that I can use to keep things tidy. One caveat is I live in the city and don't have access to a hose. Driveway, and electric, yes.

Went through a divorce, sold the house, moved a few times and lost several detailing items along the way......
 
Unless you live in an apartment building in a upper floor, you can always hook up the hose to your kitchen faucet and run the hose through the kitchen window.

If you can't do that because of height or position of the driveway or something, then your only option is rinseless or waterless. I am not a big fan of waterless so I will suggest you watch some videos on rinseless washing. The best way is to use the Garry Dean method with one bucket and about 6 microfiber towels. A double action sprayer for pre-soaking would be a good thing to get too. In terms of products, Optimum no rinse and wax or Meguiar's D115 are probably your best bet.

So... what you need:

1 Bucket (2 gallons is probably best) you need to make 1 gallon of solution for a wash
6-8 microfiber towels
1 spray bottle for pre-soak
1 bottle of rinseless wash
1 drying microfiber towel

If you can get a hose through to your driveway using the method I suggested (you just need an adaptor too hook up the hose to the kitchen faucet), then the method I suggested is still good but I would suggest you get a pressure washer so you can pre-rinse the car before washing... this reduces the chance of scratching the paint during the wash.
 
Rinseless would be best option. like wolfgang uber ;)

And maybe keep a bottle of waterless wash as well for weekly maintenance, bird poo and etc etc
 
oh wait, you can also use WG uber rinseless as waterless.

Rinseless is the way to go, 1 bucket 10-12 higher GSM towels, couple of waffle weave's and a few spray bottles for different dillution ratios. I've found that Megs D114, Ultima Waterless Wash and ONR serve many purposes i.e. glass,rims,plastics,rocker panels and clay lube. These products really are very versatile and help keep storage easy
 
 
Here is where I netted out for supplies

  • ONR
  • McKees 37 Protectant
  • McKees 37 Interior Cleaner
  • McKees 37 krystal Glass Cleaner
  • Speed Master Wheel Brush
  • Sonax Wheel Cleaner
  • Optimum Car Wax

I had microfibers for cleaning, wash bucket, grit guard. Bought a Gold wash micro-chenille wash mitt and waffle weave glass towel.

For the wheels I spray, scrub, then splash water on from a bucket. Not the best setup but it works. I'm amazed how well the Sonax works!!

I did my SUV and another car - the Sonax and interior cleaner are almost gone. I am in need of a tire cleaner, and open to any and all suggestions of the above.
