Yup, worst coating to apply that I have ever used. Exhausting removal although Gyeon later came up with a modified application method.

I used Gyeon Primer as polish and topped it with CanCoat. Lasted about a 1.5 years and owner washed it weekly when weather was nice although she did use dishwashing soap to wash, preferring Joy over Dawn.

If I had to choose between using CanCoat or CQuartz UK right now, I'd go with CQuartz. This is ONLY because a longer lasting coating fits my life better right now, not because of the quality of the products.

CQuartz UK allows me to protect a vehicle and then I don't have to do anything but wash it for the next 18~24 months. This schedule means I rarely have to do a full detail on more than one car a year. As busy as life is right now, It is a schedule I can maintain.

If I had more time on my hands I'd probably use CanCoat once a year. This is only because I think I like the looks of CanCoat a little better and the vehicles would look a little better when getting a light polish once a year vs. once every two.
 
well i have applied one of the easiest coating not sold here on autogeek still going strong after 8 months..no high spots nice gloss and very cheap. comes in a 50ml bottle.not Chinese garbage..it is available locally to me so for the price i wanted to try it..my car sits outside 24/7 not garaged at all and its daily driver.. I am also using a topper sold by the same company you cant beat the price and performance..

How long has been that combo on your paint?
 
That many layers of very durable products should last a really long time. My daughter's car has a single coat of CQuartz UK 2.0 and its going strong after 18 months when I saw it at Christmas time.

It’ll be 2 years in March. I topped it at 1.5 years with Cancoat again to use up (went bad month later).

It didn’t need it as was performing well after decon wash. I’d easily say this combo would roll to the 2+ year mark with out adding that last coat of CC.

Sorry to bump this. How long did it last? Or is it still going?

How long do you think a second coat would have added?

It's still going, so we've hit three years at this point. My daughter tells me it's still beading up really nicely and she still gets compliments on how nice her car looks. I'll be going down to visit her over the Memorial Day weekend, so I'll be able to access the car myself. One thing in the car's favor is the fact it sits in a garage at home, a covered garage when at work, and where she lives typically sees only minimal snow/ice/salt.

I'm not sure how much longer a second coat would last over a single one. Environmental conditions and wash/maintenance routines are huge factors when it comes to durability. If we can get 2~3 years out of a single application, I really don't see the point in doubling up from a durability standpoint. After 2~3 years it's probably time to polish the vehicle any way just to spruce it up. A daily driver experiences a lot of life in three years...

Ironically enough, the whole reason for my visit in a couple weeks is to apply CQ UK to her husband's new car....

which is easier to apply? is either one less likely to produce high spots? If the car pro lite only last 6 months do any high spots wear off?

Lite lasts longer than 6 months. It’s true claim is 1.5 years.

Which products are you asking about when it comes to “easier to apply”?

cancoat or car pro lite? which is easier to apply.

The poll is different because it is asking a different question from you. Gyeon One is not the same thing as CanCoat; different products. Cancoat is the competitor to Cquartz Lite. Also this poll started two years ago before Gyeon release updated formulas of all their coatings this winter/spring.
 
Although I’m sure tha CP lite is an amazing product, CanCoat has gave no reason to try any other light product.

It’s done everything ask of it. Looks amazing, great beading and solid self cleaning.

Unless someone comes out with a Coating lite with a 2 yr shelf life i’m good.

CQ Lite should last longer now that it’s going to be in a glass bottle.
