I just spent the last few weeks researching engine detailers and I even posted some pics of the Honda I just did using Sonus Motorkote.

Here are what I think are 5 common options available you often hear most about.

Sonus Motorkote - Sonus Motorkote is durable and has a nice OEM look to it. The best thing about the product is that it actually protects, where as the others do not. The downside to this product is that it is harder to apply and you need to apply a second coat.

CD2- CD2 has worked well on my wife's car. It's holding up ok after a good month or so, but that car also has a splash guard which keeps the engine clean regardless. CD2's best quality is how easy it is to apply. It works well, but I don't think the protection is on par with Sonus. The downside to CD2 is it is now discontinued, again. I confirmed this last week.

Gunk Engine Brite - I have not used this product, but it sounds like it's on par with CD2, or maybe I should say similar in terms of application and finished look.

Stoner's Trim Shine - I may try this next. I have not used it but read quite a few reviews of it. Durability is not it's strong point and neither is protection, but it's probably the easiest to use overall and that's a big plus. I'd consider using this down the line if i ever get tired of SM.

3D Trim Shine - Have not used it but read good things about it. Anyone have any opinions on it?

:props:

I've used CD2 (still have a can left) and the Gunk product. Gunk has an engine degreaser in it as well as a dressing. It worked fine but I liked CD2 better.
