Battle of the Waxes

On the forum I read a lot about COLLINITE 845 and PINNACLE SOUVERAN.
I have two issues,
1) My truck is parked outside and needs a lot of protection from S GA sun.
2) My bike is under me or in the garage and cared for much better than the truck.
Is this a thing of better buy both or there is a better way to go?

I will be topping either WG Deep Gloss Sealant or Klasse High Gloss Sealant (not sure which one).
 
I had a bike that I recently sold but the way I cared for it was with the Collinite and topped with Klasse Sealant...It looked great and I really got more money for the bike because of the shine.

WHy did you top wax with a sealant?


You should always apply sealant first... and top with a wax if you prefer
 
I'd go with a sealant first (for looks, durability and protection) then a carnauba wax for added gloss. Here are a few pics of my bike with different combinations:

Do you maintain the truck weekly? Biweekly? If you're looking for too notch protection from uv rays and something long lasting, personally I'd go with a coating. I'd recommend gtechniqs products, as I have used them with great results. Pricey, but worth every penny imo
 
845 should be an option.... as well as <anything> topped with OCW. Either option gets you many months of protection.
 
Yeah, put down the KSG and I'd chose the Colinite #845, seems everyone says it lasts a long time and from what I've read its the best of both worlds between the 3 Colinite products.

Generally speaking, sealants (especially ones like KSG) need a clean, oil-free surface to properly bond, where wax will bond to anything (almost)...which is why you do sealant first then wax, and then you can't go back to sealant unless you strip.
 
There are a lot of great waxes on the market however it sounds as if there are two requirements that surface first; protection and great looks.

Truck

For the truck there's little doubt that Collinite 845 is the hands down best choice in waxes. As others have mentioned a properly applied sealant first then a layer of Collinite 845 12 hours later would give maximum protection and shine.

Bike

While Collinite 845 gives outstanding protection it too provides that wet look most of strive to achieve. That said, give it a try and gauge your satisfaction. If this doesn't give you the look you're trying to achieve then perhaps try something like Pinnacle Souveran.

Sealants are great products and in my opinion should be used prior to waxing on both, but definitely on the truck....
 
Wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant 12 hours later top it off with fuzion.
I alway recommend using sealants over waxes to vehicles parked outside. If you want to pay the extra money it's hard to beat gtechniq exo or opti coat.
