I did a full detail on my Mustang yesterday with my Dewalt 849X, Grit Guard Pad Washer, DP Pad Cleaner, and LC Waffle Pro pads, LC Flexible Backing Plates:
1. Dawn wash
2. 3M Tape
3. SF4000 (Super Finish);
4. M105 in two spots for some deeper scratches.
5. 3M Perfect it Ultrafine Polish (Ultrafina in Europe)
6. Duragloss 601/501
The results were good, but not impressive. All the swirls and scratches were gone but the shine was good but not great.

This morning I gave it a coat of DG 105 alone. The added shine is impressive. Now I', happy! The 2nd coat really made it pop.

So when it comes to using DG 105/601, be sure to follow up with a second coat of DG 105.

The shine looks good in your first pic. It also appears to be overcast in the reflection. Are you sure the second coat did that much for it? Not to be a downer. Overcast can make your shine not seem so great though. It looks good nonetheless man. Good work.

I would guess a quick wipedown with DG Aquawax over the 601/105 may also have given you the results your looking for. I really like the AW for keeping that "just waxed" look going for a loooong time.

Must have been the sunlight making it appear shinier.
When dealing with black, there's shine and there's also depth and wetness. The second coat definitely pumped up the depth and wetness.
