I'm sure this has been, like the subject days, beat to death... but I've been looking at vacuums for the last three hours and my eyes hurt. What's the best one under $150-$200... mines got the death squeal and I've tried cleaning etc. I'm sure the 100+ hours isn't the problem at all (sarcastic). Looked at metro, fein, industrial shopvacs, so on. Just need something preferably local or lasts a long time. Thanks Agoians.

Any Rigid, just go to Home Depot. They are great vacuums.
 
If you are a Costco member, get whatever they have. When it fails, bring it back for a full refund/credit, and buy another. It may not be the "best," but you won't have to shell out for another on your own dime.
 
I'll definitely look into ridgid and whatever sams club has tomorrow. Closest Costco is about an hour away.

Ridgid has a 4gal, 5HP that is awesome. I think its $79 @home depot. Get the car detailing accessory kit. Better hose and lots of tools.

+1 for Ridgid vacuums from Home Depot. I am satisfied with mine. At the body shop I currently work for, we put about 2-3 hours of total usage on it per day, and it's still strong after 2 years. For my personal one, 30mins a week, and been 6 months so far still going strong.
