Hey its "Maxima dad" been a long time since we have posted with our AG family been a lot of changes...Maxima Mom is now "Lexus Lady" tooling around in a 2010 IS250 C convertable and I cliffed my money pit ML 55 AMG in favor of a 2011 Murano...but I am posting because today i brought home my dream car...
At 48 i treated myself to a 1974 Corvette Stingray, 350 with 4 speed Borg Warner trani and a nearly perfect, factory original interior...
So here are my newbie fiberglass questions:
Paint appears to be originial, if repainted there is NO overspray anywhere...is there any way to really tell originial paint from re-paint?
There appears to be some hazing possibly from a car cover, on one front fender...is it safe to use my DA polisher on the fglass? If so are there special compounds or pads i need to get?
I have several tire products for the rubber but are there special techniques or cautions with white raised lettering?
Is there anything that can help rejuvinate or soften the older door seals before totally replacing them? I have poor boys trim restorer is this ok to use?
Are there any recommendations for car covers that dont mar paint?...she will be garaged but want to get a dust cover anyway.
The murano is going ghetto and has been relegated to the outside..
As always i welcome any and all input and if this is already on the forum somewhere just let me know
All the best
Evan
