Before & After Pictures: 1969 Ford Thunderbird Barn Find - Sitting for 24 years

Nice job Mike and crew. I have a couple of questions though. Did this car have may rust spots on it and in your opinion when a car sits that long and isn't maintained does the paint get to a point that is just quits getting worse over time because it is covered with dust and debris and no one is touching it assuming it's not outside in bad weather or sun etc?

Astounding results. You are indeed a master of your craft as are the members of your team.

No. No visible rust spots.

Yes I think there does come a point where the damage is minor simply due to like you said, nothings touching the paint and it's not exposed to the elements.

That said, nothing really gets better with time not even you and I. :D

Single stage paint without some type of attention dries out and becomes more brittle but at some point it finds an equilibrium.

This Thursday session was our first. We learned a lot and appreciate all the Pros giving us tips on the correct way to detail.
Unfortunately we have to return to Va. Can't wait to apply what we have learned back at home.

Hi Nancy and Neil,

It was great having you join us for the Tbird restoration. Hope to see you again at Autogeek next time you're in town.

And just to note - BEAUTIFUL WORK on your Ford F350!

:)

Thanks, we really appreciate you checking it out. That means a lot coming from you.
