Before applying LSP

Quick newb question.

I am planning on doing a full detail today. (clay / polish / sealant)

After I apply the sealant I plan on letting the car sit overnight before I apply my LSP.

My question is since my car is not garaged I will want to clean it again before applying the LSP. Can I just hit with a quick detail spray or is a full wash required again.

I wanted to top it w/ a coat of Collinite 845.

No good?

So your asking if it is ok to let the car sit overnight before you apply Collinite?

Yeah you'll be fine and depends maybe a quick detail spray won't hurt either.

I also am a strong believer of letting the paint talk to you.

Meaning we can read and read all day on the forums, but I like to go and observe the paint in person, sight, touch, etc..., first hand.


So let the paint talk to you and become one with the paint. Lol
 
I guess this is all a matter of one persons opinion?

I've read posts from this forum where people say they top a sealant with Collinite and nobody said it was a problem.

Thanks for the input though...
 
well if there is any type of dust, pollen, etc on the car, you'll want to safely remove it with XYZ method

You can top it off with whatever wax you want

Sure...
Go ahead and apply another LSP (the Collinite #845),
over the other/first LSP (the Sealant).

Of course:
-This Collinite #845 application is after the Sealant manufacturer's recommended cure time has elapsed.
-And your determination of any contaminates that have fallen onto the Sealant while it has been curing.

Removing the dust that may have accumulated overnight is an important step prior to applying a wax. Using a detail spray, or a waterless wash is an ideal solution to removing dust or pollen before applying your favorite wax. :props:

I love his responses^^^^

Main pft, some guys like to top sealants some don't, there no right or wrong. You may top it and realized you could have done without the 845, there's only one way to find out and the only thing your going to kill is time.
 
Question:

When is your paint at its peak pop?


Answer:

Right after polishing!!...No wax ..No sealant ..nothing!!

Anything you put after polishing will somewhat dull the finish..

So apply a wax over sealant is a waste..

Do one or the other...if you dont like it...polish again to clear coat ..and apply another product..

The paranoid in all of us is....Can it look better?

The car looks great right after washing..
But once it hits the air, road grime, rain, dew ..its dirty and we get paranoid all over again

Just accept that this is all in the game and we'd get happier and richer down the road
