Our kids get our older computers when my wife and I upgrade. Their computers were getting too far behind and we were thinking about upgrading them. I checked this weeks Best Buy ad and they had a computer with 17" CRT and Printer for $249. By no means a powerhouse but considering what they were using (Duron 1ghz, Celeron 667) it would be a huge improvement.
Intel® Celeron® D processor 360; 512MB DDR2 SDRAM; DL DVD±RW/CD-RW drive; LightScribe labeling; 120GB hard drive; Windows Vista Home Basic. I didn't need the monitors (we have 4 LCD monitors now) or the printers (have plenty) but the price was great. After we bought them we noticed they had just the CPU for $199 or a better system with P4 and 1gb of memory for $299. They still have them availble online and in some stores. There are no rebates to deal with.
