Best carts for detailing?

Thanks for the replies.

I know the painted metal carts are cheaper and look nicer but wouldn't a plastic cart (or one with plastic shelves be better (will not rust, can be washed easily if needed, etc).

Al,

I've seen some of these molded plastic carts in person and most look indestructible. I'll be going with the plastic version for the reasons you cite above... :props:

Plus the plastic carts are less likely to scratch a vehicle if one accidentally bumped into the vehicle.

I have this Craftsman Heavy Duty Utility Cart.

I mounted a power strip to it so that I can have both of my PC's (one for 5.5" pads and one for 3" & 4" pads) as well as my rotary all plugged in at the same time and ready to use without having to keep unplugging and plugging in the buffer that i want to use.

More great reasons to choose plastic!! :dblthumb2:

When I used to turn wrenches more often I used a plastic one similar to some of the models shown here.

One major advantage I found was that when, not if, the cart bumps your customer's car there is a less likelihood of damage (to the customer's car that is - I could care less about the cart).

The plastic carts appear to be more solid and sturdy than the metal ones that I looked at. Had one of them picked out at Sears, but then the project center went on sale, and I couldn't resist.

im looking at a cart similar to this one what a great idea with the power strip. now i just need more polishers to plug in :D:

I just got back from Harbor freight and picked up their service cart. I had a 20% off coupon which cost 77 out the door. Looks very sturdy and made with good materials. Big enough to put a DA and rotary + pads on top and other spray bottles on bottom. I remember how messy I was when I was detailing at a friends apartment, took over like 3 car spot. :P

I just picked this up this weekend at Sears, the sides fold down and its all wire mesh, everything I need fits in there its all metal and had good tires for the trip from the basement to the driveway. My version of Moble Detailing:buffing:

are the wheels rubber?

I think they were plastic. Just finished installing it and can't want to bring it with me when I detail cars. It was on sale for 90 and I had a coupon for 20% off. You can find those coupon in car magazine.

It was a lot larger then I expected.

I am new here but I am starting to see how this works. Ten minutes ago I did not know I needed a cart. Now after reading this post I feel like I must have one. This forum is going to cost me some cash,, but I like it:xyxthumbs:

This is what I have for a roll out with all my stuff on it.

I saw another guy have this smaller one that I got. It works great.

Best 75 I spent!

Yep really good stuff. Its made from polypropylene and seems like it going last for years. I saw almost the same thing on sears.com and they go for 190.

I purchased this cart from Griots Garage when they had a 15% off everything sale.
List price is $149.99
