Best Cheap Microfiber Towels

Kirkland towels are great for interior cleaning. When they get dirty they become great for wheels and engine bays, then to the trash.

I have a few great quality buffing plush type ones. 4 good drying towels and about 200 of these type. Maybe I’ll just invest in a few more of the top quality ones and keep these for inside and wheels etc...

Thanks folks and sorry to OP if I highjacked thread.

you got the wrong one , usually they come in 36 towels pack , and are green , yellow , orange or blue ,single solid color no edge color. and also no tags too.

What are the specs on the Sams Clubs one? 80/20? 300gsm? No tag is nice, kirklands have the tag, you rip them off you tear it, in the wash they become a mess.

^ you gotta charge that phone... ;)

HAHAHA! As for them, I think if you have a harder finish they will be fine. I am using them now for other things then finish. Not all interior either as I have a number of high gloss pieces inside the car as well that can mare and scratch easily with even the gentlest towel.

Ok, waiting on the next 25% off at AG then I will order some Eagles. I sent an email as well as spoke with someone at Rag Company and they both confirmed the same thing. Eagle Edgeless, they hold up after washing, they are soft and a 500 gsm is good for WW and RW for they are deep and trap dirty and stuff. Where as the 350 is better for wax removal. 70/30 is also the better blend. Ill get a 8-10 of each. Probably could use the 500 for everything but its harder to feel the removal of wax with the deep pile higher gsm.

I’ve got Kirklands that are 2-3 yrs. old and I can easily tell them apart just by looking at them. The older ones get used on wheels & interior, the newer ones get used on paint for waterless washing etc.

They’re 350gsm. I don’t know where you came up with 300gsm, but you outta feel a 300gsm towel to see the difference. As far as them lasting only 3 washes? I’ve washed these towels countless times in hot water with 3D Towel Kleen and they’re just as resilient as any other microfibers I’ve owned. It’s all in how you care for them and that goes for all microfibers.

Rip the tags off? Why would you do that and not expect them to become a mess in the wash? Use some scissors and make a perfect cut. It’s easy.

I’ll spend an hour or so if I get new ones cutting the tag, and then fishing the rest of it out of the edge with needle nose pliers. It usually come out in one piece, you just have to push the stitching around to get a solid grip on it.

Thanks for the info. I wash in cold and I used Kirkland Free (no dyes no perfumes). Not really any specific washing instructions as I am a little new to this working on a different paint finish them I am use to. The Jeeps finish as well as the audi are very hard! I can use any towel with no issues. The tesla is a beast and picky. Way too soft! Trust me! It is a frustrating vehicle to work with plus the color and metallic show everything!

I literally came here to post a question about this very thing and this was at the top? Is that a sign? Lol. Anyways, my cheapness (although spend a lot) lead me to Costco and found these for a decent price. Any good ??? I’m very tempted

I have expensive ones, but I use the Costco’s all the time. Wash before use

That’s very unfortunate. I can imagine what that must be like.

Like the eagle edgeless good choice. Recommend trying the creature edgeless duel pile for wax sealant removal. I like them for rinseless as I’ll use short nap for single passes on lower part of car.

I love these towels for the money.
Why do you suggest washing before use? Is that *really* necessary? Honest question because I'm just lazy and have a bag of new ones in my garage right now. lol
