Best clay alternative

I used a Nanoskin AutoScrub Mitt for the first time last month. I would estimate it took about half to a third of the time to do my car.

Has anyone used the chemical guys surface cleansing mitt?

I have the fine grade CG wash mitt. I love it. It made it so much easier to clay. Using a 2 bucket method I would wash the panel with the mf side and then rinse it and dip it back it soap and use the claying side. I used to wash the whole car then dry it completely and then break out the clay and go section by section. This process used to take me 3-4 hours and now with the wash mitt I can wash and clay in about an hour and half

Tried the Nanoskin Autoscrub Pad last month and I can't imagine going back to the bar. I use a Mitt on one hand and follow with the pad/Velcro strap on the other. Cuts my time in half.

Chemical Guys washmitt renamed autoacrub mitt.

I have auto scrub and speedy prop towel, love both

I go the AutoScrub to help me with the physical aspect of it. (Major panels)

Then Speedy Prep Towel for the nooks and crannies

Love my aforementioned mitt but I'm not getting rid of my clay so fast. An alternative is exactly what I consider it, not a replacement.

6 inc h pad on my da and sponges from nano.
Optimum sponges sucked for me

I use the Nanoskin Autoscrub pad on my DA. Best investment I have made really makes claying much more efficient and faster.

Haven't touched a bar of clay since getting the Nanoskin products. Unbelievably fast and best I can tell, just as smooth a surface.

I love the CarPro PolyShave. Put it on a DA and set to low speed. Lube as usual and you will be amazed!

I am hearing Ironx comes pretty close to claying. I just bought some, but have yet to try it. Will have to let everyone know.

Actually, I found out today that Iron-X can be BETTER than clay... Today I started polishing my Dad's car for Father's Day and while washing it I came across some tiny rust spots all over the back and sides of his white Honda Accord (he recently retired after 40 years of working for the railroad). I used some Iron-X paste and it appeared to take most of it off. I went to clay it before compounding and I discovered a bunch of left over spots all over the back of the trunk and the rear bumper. I clayed it and almost none of it came off. I then grabbed the Iron-X paste, applied it all over, and this is what I saw:

Ok, great, I got it all... Nope! Another application... Nope! A third application... Finally!!

Iron-X should change their slogan to "We get what clay can't!"

Nanoskin 6½" pad all the way! Take that with the old standard ONR and you're a happy man. ;) You'll be able to cut down your time to 15~20 minutes to do the entire vehicle. I've hardly used any clay since I got mine.

Your Dad and my Dad drive the same car, except his is a 2011. And yes, I am the one maintaining it. It's overdue. I've had to step up to the plate since he had Bi-lateral knee replacement this past February. However, I am going to try the Ironx on my new white Nissan, so your picture looks encouraging.
