All clay, in the US, comes from AutoMagic. They unfairly have a patent of detailing clay. Not the material make up, but anything that is called detailing clay. A company in Japan first produced clay in the 1990's and somehow AutoMagic got a patent for that in the US even though they weren't the inventors of the system. Over the last few years there were many great clays made under the Erazer name and were like elastic bands. They were very pliable, didn't break apart, didn't marr, etc. These clays were sold by companies like Poorboy's, Optimum, Zaino, Stuf Automotive, etc, etc, etc. They were big bars and yellow. Even though you may see yellow clay on the market today it isn't the same. Most likely you'll find blocks of grey clay, which is AM formulations that companies buy and sell. Companies can tell CM to make special clay for them but that costs a lot of money and you need to buy in very large quantities. So it technically isn't fair to say that all clay is the same... but it is pretty darn close.
Is there way to procure true elastic clay that was once available and beloved by...
I still have my yellow clay from my first car I bought myself, about 8 years ago. I always forget I have it so it's still fairly new. Good ol' EARASER clay!threads like this make me miss my yellow clay![]()
I've the mothers clay bar, it's not that good. Very mild for my taste. It hardly removes over spray...well that's just what I found out.
