Best Conditioner for Black Leather

Has anyone used leather honey? It can be greasy if you over apply, but it's supposed to be the best of the best. Completely turned around an old couch of ours.

Like you, I've only used it on an old sun-beaten leather chair. Worked pretty good for that, seems like it would be a real pain to use on car leather though.

At least on my '11 toyota (full leather), they recommend a diluted mix of woolite and water to clean, damp cloth wipedowns when needed. No conditioning recommended.

I tried it in my car, it was a pain. Very sticky (like honey) and my leather is mostly coated, so it didn't seem to help that much.

Leatherique by far. When used properly you can work some magic with this stuff. :dblthumb2:

Great information and suggestions so far. I don't think the leather in my new Hyundai Genesis is aniline. Aerospace 303 Protectant is one of the best products I have used. Absolutely love it for the dash and all interior plastic. Never thought about using it on leather though.

The leather in your car IS coated and I would suggest cleaning with Leather Masters Strong Cleaner follow by Leather Masters Protection Cream.

303 will add a slight gloss & oily feel and IMO has no place on auto leather. If you want your leather to look and feel like new, while being protected, use Leather Masters.

leather master or LTT leather protect. traditional conditioners offer no dirt or abrasion resistance. they just hydrate the seat which actually makes dirt stick more from all of my experience with light colored leathers.

:iagree:

My only difference would be to use Ultima interior shampoo, as I find it a more effective cleaner than Leather Master Strong.

In my opinion, black leather looks especially ugly if it starts to crack and fade. If your car seats see a lot of action, you will need to make sure the leather stays protected. A good conditioner will keep it soft and able to handle the abuse of daily wear and tear. If you let the leather become too dry, you will be inviting cracks and discoloration that will be much more difficult to hide. So the bottom line is to keep your seats conditioned often

I’ve been using a product called Tantex for leather detailing many years. Check it out here: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007XG6MYM. It has provided equally impressive results light and dark shades of leather. In fact, I even use it to condition my favorite black leather jacket. It’s exceptional for preventative care, but will also revitalize worn leather that has seen neglect.

After alot of research on what to use for the protected black leather seats in my Mazda RX-7 I settled on the 3 step leathermasters kit. This includes:

-Soft Cleaner (For lightly soiled leather. Might have to go for the strong cleaner version if more dirt)

-Vital (Conditioner)

-Leather Protection Cream (The only thing that I do not like is no UV protection in this but my car is a garage queen)

(Applied in that order)

My seats look and feel so nice!

As far as it leaving "Residue", I have used the complete sytem twice and have not noticed any

BTW what king of genesis do you have? Hot cars!

Are the leather seats in my 07 Chevy Trailblazer SS and/or 2011 Vette coated? Recommendations for them?

Once you try leatherique You will not look back at other leather care products Its spendy but well worth it...
