Hey guys, what would you say is the best or most trusted DA Pads to use for general compounding step, and for a General Polishing step.

My detailing is simple, I just use 2 sets of pads. One set for compounding, and one set for Polishing.

Just looking for what is considered the Best Brand and Style?

Thankyou!

What DA are you using?

This is a very broad question based on so many variables. But to simplify if I were using a PC or something not as powerful as the big boys I would go with flat pads from LC. Or even Megs MF pads which are also flat.

If it's a Rupes I would just use their system. We need to know the machine etc

id say for free spin D/A 8mm throw, LC Thin pros

For forced D/A, LC Force, but anything long throw specific will work nicely too
for long throw i've really liked B&S Low Pros, LC HDO, and 3D spider pads

Lake Country Hydrotech, and the green, blue, red from Buff and Shine are what I use the most on the PC.

With the Rupes, I use their stuff.

Sorry about that, I'm using the HF DA guys.

Ohh then LC thin pads all the way. Really if it's just your own car megs MF cutting pad with a compound and LC thin pro white for the polish. You could use their black too but I keep that for spreading waxes sealant etc.

Thsts a great pad combo for that machine imo.

The LC thin, LC MF and megs MF all work well on the HF da. I would imagine the buff and shine urofiber would too but have not tried them yet.

I use Buff and Shine flat face 5.5" on my HF DA. For cut and compounding orange or white. Polishing green or blue.

These are my favorite pads for a standard DA. However, for cut, I use yellow and orange. For polishing, green and white.

Maybe a dumb question, but are Lake Country Pads considered like "The Standard" in pads?

The reason I asked this last question about if the LC pads are considered "The Standard" is because everyone is always talking about using the "Orange" pad for cutting, or using the "White" pad for Polishing. And I have no idea what they are talking about, or what brand they are talking about.

And it's said so often, I'm figuring these must be some fairly commonly used pads, if everyone is simply calling them by color without ever mentioning the brand name.

Thankyou

I specifically mentioned B&S in my reply as far as colors.
