Best deal on Disney tickets

The family is going to be in the Orlando area soon and I wanted to know where the best place is to get a deal on Disney tickets to the Magic Kingdom.
 
I know costco near me sells disney tickets. Maybe check that out.

OK, I can call Costco near me in Canada and see if there's a deal there with our stores too. Thanks.
 
I was there last weekend, I go about once a month since its less than an hour and a half from me. Disney does not discount much of anything unless you are in the military, retired military or a Florida Resident. Other than that you might be able to get a deal at the hotel you are staying at but pretty much what you see for pricing on their website is what you are going to pay. I know I am very surprised to see that it's $89 a day for an adult and that is not even with a park hopper! Bring your wallet and a lot of patience to wait in the lines, it is busy season!
One thing I do know from when my sisters visit with their family, it is much cheaper to do the package deal, hotel, tickets and the meal plan.
 
Disney offers some discounts if you sign your kids of for one of the educational programs. I assume there is some write off for them doing this. But anyway, the tickets for the whole family were discounted because we signed up the kids for a class.
 
be prepared to pay through the nose and wait all day for rides. My wife bought me a Grumpy t-shirt after our second day at the park. You can only watch so many parades before it gets to you...

One this I learnt is to stay away from the park that will open late that day. It's the one where everyone staying at the park hotels will go.

Also go to the animal kingdom safari first thing or you won't see anything once it gets too hot for the animals...
 
It sounds like you are only interested in the Magoc Kingdom, but the best deal is the park hopper pass and to stay at a disney resort/hotel to get the "extra magic hours"

Usually one park is open early and one is open late per day. So with the park hopper pass and staying on disney property, you can get in for the early and late hours with fewer people and get through lines faster.

When my family goes we try to hit one park in the morning for the extra magic hours, stop back at the resort for lunch and a dip in the pool or other activity, evening at a second park or waterpark, back to resort for dinner and a 3rd park at night for the extra magic hours. It's a ton to fit in to one day, but it's a blast and about as cost effective as you can be.

Yes its call the Magic hour, last weekend it was from 10pm till 2am which was very nice! It is really worth it to stay at one of their resorts, you save that $15 parking fee for each park and you can either get in earlier or later than the others.
 
My wife, the Disney expert says "Undercover tours.com" sign up for the newsletter at mousesavers.com and they'll give you a discount at that place too, on ocassion
 
Thanks for the tips so far. It's hard to find a deal for just one day although the Walmart right near Disney has a small discount. We may not even go, we'll see how much shopping the wife does, LOL. At least if we do, we're close by and there's a free shuttle to and from.
 
Also beware of the timeshare salesmen. They may offer you some ticket deals but it's a trap.
