Best finishing polish & why???

Rupes Ultra Diamond or Sonax Perfect Finish on Rupes white pad. I use two drops and one drop on the pad, respectively. Superb results every single time.

Mark--when you use Rupes Keramik polish do you do a full pad prime or just a few drops?? I'm going to give it a try on hard VW clear this spring as I've heard it performs well on hard clears.

Depends on the paint.

Sonax Perfect Finish
Polish Angel Esclate Lotion
Dodo Juice Lime Prime

I have, but have yet to try, Polish Angel Master Final Polish

Thats a very valid point you made there...compounds are not one size fits all..every paint job is its own. :xyxthumbs:

On Rupes pads it only takes 3 dime sized drops. On Rupes or Megs cutting disks you have to do a full prime.

Menzerna P085RD, HD Polish, or Megs #205. HD if used in the more non cutting method, doesn't dust, wipes off easy, and is very optically clear.

6. Any additional comments, praise, or category i somehow missed.

Consistency of results over a wide spectrum of paint systems

Here's a few factors just off the top of my head that relates to what makes for a good finishing polish or any paint care product for that matter. In no particular order,

  • Hard, medium, soft paints.
  • Ceramiclear paints
  • Basecoat/clear coat as well as single stage paint systems
  • Fresh paint - less than 30 days

During a conversation with a chemist in this industry one day, he said something very interesting that I latched on to and have never forgotten.

He said it's easy to make a product, the tricky part is to make it work on the WIDEST spectrum (or range) of past, current and future paint system.

Also said climate and geographical location are two other factors that are important to take into consideration and formujlate for to make a product truly global in performance.

Carry on with your converstation...
