Hey all,

I'm new to the forum, have been reading around a bunch and really enjoying what I'm reading.

I own a PC dual action buffer and honestly am just not that "into it" ... I much prefer to use my Polishin' Pal and do it all by hand. Both of my trucks have pretty nice paint, an 04 Dodge Ram and a 2007 BMW X3 (the wifes car)... hers has some small swirling that I'd like to correct, but thats a different thread.

I emailed Nick about half of this question before and he got right back to me, but I hate to keep wasting his time on questions like this.

Could you guys recommend good foam pads for Klasse AIO? I've been using Lake Country Spot Buffs Red for both but I'm thinking maybe the white, blue or black would do well for me on the AIO, then finishing with the red for SG and for Carnuba top coats? Any input is appreciated.

white polishing for kaio works well for me

ksg should be done by hand. Apply too much and it's a bear to remove. check some of the application threads for ksg here and test it on a small area first. you'll be glad you did

First off welcome AGO! Here is a chart that should help

Thanks guys. I bookmarked that chart, will certainly be using it for my next order.

What size backing plates do you have for your PC?

I think if you use your pc a bit for applying AIO's and sealant/waxes you will find you love it because it gives you better control and a more even thin coverage.

By Hand I really doubt you are getting the full potential of any AIO, they really need to be applied by machine to get them to do their job.

I got a porter cable starter package from AG about a year ago. It has 6.5 inch pads and i think a 6 inch backing plate. which as I've been reading the forums I'm thinking may be a little too big for the PC. I'm thinking I may scale it down to a 5 or even 4 inch plate/pad setup.

The other thing about it, and another thing I'm reading up on. The PC has also started to "vibrate" and skip around a bunch recently... I'm thinking possibly because of either too much pressure, or because of previously used pads causing it to become unbalanced. At high speeds the PC smooths out a lot, but is still not what i'd call perfect. At low speed it jumps around like a nightmare. I'm happy I havent put it to my nice cars yet, I've only put it to my old "trail only" land rover and my company vehicle as practice... my friend has been using it on his 02 Porsche Turbo with his pads (we split package) and having the same issue.

I should note. we each only have ONE of each color pad for the PC... so I'm SURE that these pads are BEAT beyond belief... maybe its time to re-stock our supply and try it again.

I think you will find if you invest in a 5" & 3.5" backing plate along with some 5.5" and 4" pads you will like your PC a whole bunch better. I Recomend the Ht pads.

For an AIO I use the Tangerine HT pads and for a sealant I use either a blue falt pad or Crimson Ht pad. The Crimson HT has a very fine cut so some say not to use it for LSP application, personally I haven't had any issue and Lake Country says that is what the pad is designed for so make your own judgement.

My recommendation is to get some different plates and pads for your Pc and put it to work!:props:

This stuff is worse than crack. i've been shopping around AG.net ALL DAY looking at all the new fun things I can try.

Looking at Meguiars #9 and an Orange pad to fix the very light swirls on the X3.

Since Klasse AIO I use the LC white pads since Klasse AIO is a cleaner. I then top with some Pinnacle wax with the black pad.

Placed an order for a bunch of new pads, backing plate, all kinds of misc stuff... used the July12 promo and got my 15% off.

Klasse SG is on backorder so i got Poorboy EX-P which i'll top with some Pinnacle Souveran that I already have.

I went with Megs #9 for the minor swirl remover on the X3.
I got white, green and red since i already have some oranges whites and reds here that havent been used for more than 1 panel, but after reading around i realized i need more. also got some micro/pad cleaner to refresh all my other stuff... bunch more MF towels... its so easy to spend so much on stuff, but i got out of this one pretty cheap. $125 bucks for that and more.

now to read up on the "how to make money detailing" thread and get some of it back lol.

Yes, this can become quite an "addiction."

Also a big fan of the Klasse products. Started using AIO with white pads on my wife's 2007 3 Series (DD) but had to step up to orange pads with Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover when the swirls and scratches became too much for the KAIO. I have found that applying the Klasse AG is by hand is by far the best way and easiest way to work with this product, and when topped with a good carnauba I've found nothing that lasts longer through a MN winter. Be sure to post your results with pictures, interested to your results, may have to give the AIO another shot if it works for you.

The AIO is great for me. But I'm lucky enough not to have any major paint problems. On the X3 however I probably wont be as lucky. I picked up some Meguiars #9 for that because it is supposed to be fairly mild. I'll definitely post results if it ever stops being 100 degrees during the day and raining at night. :detailer:

I have also used the white Lake County CCS 6.5" pads for applying Klasse AIO, with success.
