It's time to replace my headlight bulbs... I do it yearly, don't ask why but I do!

Right now I have VisionX 55/65 watt. They aren't bright enough

What I'm asking, what are the whitest and brightest for my god awful night eyes? Standard halogen.

I know the silverstars are good but they are way expensive.

Bulb is a 9007

Thank you

I like the Sylvania Silverstars. The Ultra's are supposed to be excellent but my understanding is you give up some lifespan for the increased lumens...but I haven't used the Ultra's so that would need to be proven.

I can vouch that the Silverstars are great.

I use the "Ultra's" and I can tell you they are bright.Heck, most drivers(opposite lanes) think I have my brights(High Beams)on until I show them what my brights are actually

Hmm, seems like I'll have to shell out the dough on the Ultras.

Have you thought about converting them to HID lights?

i actualy got some really cheap bulbs from ebay, they are just like the silverstar's and i paid 7$ shipped for a set. been using them for 3 months now,and of course i get flashed by idiots thinking there my high beams...you can clearly tell where my high beams are on my ride...they dont like it when i do flash my highs LOL....or you can pay around 40$ and get a HID lighting kit from ebay and be really bright. just remember to readjust the headlight aim if you go with hids. imo you should adjust headlights to be lower when using hids...good luck!.

Silverstars are good for me, too. You can usually get a coupon and they also go on sale all the time. Just watch the ads.

Silverstar's are pretty bright, but their lifespan sucks and they're a bit pricey. Not worth replacing every 6 months like some people have to do due to their short life.

DO NOT convert to HID's unless you plan on doing a proper projector retrofit. You're going to blind everyone on the road especially if you have a truck or SUV. I know some people are going to say "well then just aim your headlights lower". No, don't do that. By aiming them lower, you're going to have less distance and range. HIDs should only be installed if you already have projector headlights or plan on retrofitting with projectors.

If you had 9006 or 9005 bulbs, you could switch to HIR bulbs. They are the brightest bulb you can legally get without getting HID and blinding people.

i would say PIAA's are pretty good. Nice white, bright light.

The Silverstar's and Silverstar Ultras are pretty good. I've had them in my truck for about 1.5 years and they are brighter and whiter than the factory bulbs.

This is them in my truck with low beams. Heads have the Ultra's and fogs have the normal Silverstar's.

The Phillips Xtreme Vision's are pretty good from what I've heard and they are supposed to last longer than the Ultra's. I may try them next.

Yes, do not install HID's unless you do a proper and correct retro fit. It can be pricey if you have someone do it and time consuming, but it's the proper way to do it. Both for your sake and other drivers.

I picked up PIAA's back in the day prior to moving to HID lighting from OEM manufacturer (other kits are actually illegal per DOT). They werent cheap but never had to replace one a year later.
