yes... let's think about it...
You have a 2 weeks promo..... in the mean time it's quite right to think almost all of your orders will get inside this promo....
Let's suppose products are paid on the fly and only shipping is forfeit during promo....
Now.... after two weeks you'll have tons of sold products and waiting to be packed (yes... it will have to wait to be packed)....
But in the mean time as products are already sold you need to buy a whole lot more to complete stocks again....
So you'll have:
- products that are gone but still there and products arriving that can't arrive yet.... because there's no room for them....
- 2 weeks with very light movement at the warehouse and suddenly when the promo is over you have to ship everything overnight...
- But you can't hire and fire workers from the warehouse and logistics every 2 weeks....
Yes.... it's a big big trouble.... but I think there's a way to do it.... it just needs to be very well orchestrated....
But maybe it's just too much trouble to have what ? 5% in sales increase ?
