Best long lasting Air Fresheners

Squashair (google it) is awesome especially the scent called squash. We're going on 6 weeks and both cars still smell delightful. It is not what I consider inexpensive however.

To all using the Air Spencer or Squashair to you need to purchase the air dispencer or can you just get the refill and toss it under the seat?

I think you need to get the holder, so you can control the scent. First week or two after I load new freshener, I leave it closed and it still works good.

I thought the Chemical Guy's leather scent lasted a while on a foam applicator.

Their "stripper scent" interesting. I found out about it on another forum.

Some guy posted a message and said he put it in his mother's car and she was upset... claimed her car smelled like a brothel. I don't think anyone asked him how she knew what a brothel smelled like.

I use the refill in mine which is still adjustable. I leave it closed and going on 2 weeks it still works like day 1.

You could use the refill alone if you wanted. The actual adjusting mechanism is on the cartridge.

The stripper scent can be very over powering if sprayed too much. I usually spray a couple sprays on the carpets and then leave the doors open for a few minutes and let it air out. Once it wears off a little it's not so strong.

A lot of my lady customers actually love the scent. Not all though...

My fiance loves Stripper Scent, as do I. However, it doesn't last at all...gone after a day in my experience. I also like Chemical Guys' New Car Scent - has an odd scent that doesn't exactly smell like new car but I like it alot...though it's gone after a day, too, in my experience.

Grocery stores and Walmarts near me sell this little burlap bag of air freshener that you toss under the seat like this - Amazon.com: Bahama Bag Co. Tropical Breeze Air Freshener: Electronics It's way overpowering the first few days but then it lasts (had on in the non-daily-driver Camaro for about a month and you can still smell it...though it is faint enough to be at the end of its life.)

Gotta try the Wonder Wafers and the other two mentioned in this thread...I like the interior to have a clean, fresh scent...

Yeah that's always been my problem is the air fresheners I have don't last.

I'm always trying new things though. Just waiting for the few scents I have left are gone.

Great. Now I'm going to have to find and purchase the stripper scent to check that out. Thanks. :bolt:

I like it a lot. It's sort of a soft scent - maybe a bit of vanilla with a hint of coco butter or shea butter mixed in. I think it's hard to describe. You can buy a small bottle to see if you like it. I did that and then I bought the large bottle as well. One thing I like about it is that it won't make your car smell like a taxi cab or a urinal cake.

Also, has anyone had issues with those gel based air fresheners? I've seen the damage they can cause if the goop inside drips on vinyl and plastic trim. Not good.

I might try the giga though. There's a Korean store here that all of the Squash and Giga fresheners. I'll see which one I like best.

I'm a big fan of stripper scent. I do one spray under each front seat. Also, fabric softener sheets hidden somewhere like under the seats work well, smell great and last a while.

Stripper scent is awesome. I also like cool squash scented air fresheners. You can get them at Japanese markets although they are not cheap.

Never thought of fabric softener sheets, might have to try that one.

I don't have anything except the "little can" of squash. Remove the lid, put on the plastic cap and pitch it under a seat. Initially it is so strong that I put it on a kitchen counter and aim a fan at it. The whole house smells wonderful for a few days. Once it settles down a bit then it goes to the car. At $8.00 a pop I won't be buying any more but it is very very nice to your snozolla :props:

Yes. I've done this as well ( in fact I hang dryer sheets in my closets in the house ) but the scent doesn't last too long for me :(

Here's another idea... goto a fabric store, get a handful of scrap leather and put it in a small mesh bag. Put that under your seat(s) and the smell lasts a good while. I did this once and when I noticed the smell diminishing, I took the leather out, rolled it around to mix up the pieces that were in the middle back out to the front and it smelled like leather again. I think this lasted me a good 6 months or more.

i use a renuzit adjustable cone and put it in the cup holder. cost a whole whopping $1...
The Odor Eliminator work for me,I keep one in cup holder, for passing odors I use Zeps Smoke and Odor Eliminator other than those I don't need any other scents lingering.I only have Stripper scent when I have one in car.lol

I picked up a Giga today at a Korean store that sells gifts and trinkets. They seem to have a huge selection of Japanese air fresheners. I think there were maybe 40+ scents to choose from.

I chose the Giga #56 and the Squash inserts as well. I like the #56 scent. It's pretty clean and not too strong.

I picked these up today, let's see how long they last.
