When they first came out a few years ago, I bought an LC orange 4 inch pad which is almost two inches thick
Now I have two sets of the entire CCS 4 inch lineup and some low profile 4 and 5.5 inch pads

Does anyone get better pad control or other advantage with a high profile over a typical low to normal profile pad

I love using it because there is more pad between the paint and the buffer and I never get any control problems. It cuts better too

I'm also noticing that eurotech pads are much more porous than the CCS and don't want to spread the polish as well as CCS. They just absorb it
The CCS keeps it going and doesn't skip either

Also it seems like LC's strong pads are stiff whereas edge pads are more flexible and use rougher texture to cut/burnish
Since using any sized yellow pad (except 4 inch) can cause skipping, chatter, hop and jumping around, would using an edge pad of the same size be a better option.

Finally, how come foamed wool and other wools don't cause the same problems as those yellow and some orange pads.

What do you think will be next in the world of buff pads.
I'm thinking foamed microfibre finishing pads.
