hey guys

its going to be my first time using cquartz and just want to know whats the best polish that is easy to put on before adding cquartz?

thanks

Use a polish that does not contain fillers. So, no glaze and no AIO type products as it will interfere with the C.Quartz bonding process.

I use a lot of Meg's products so M205 is typically what gets used for the last polishing step prior to applying the coating. M205 is really oily for a polish so in some cases I will wash the car and then do an Eraser wipe down for good measure.

CarPro recommends Fixer. I have never used it but I plan to try some out soon. Regardless of what brand of polish you use, just be sure to do a thorough Eraser wipe down to prep the surface prior to installing the coating. :props:

The polishes you use is up to you. Just make sure you get the paint clean and free of all oils after you polish.

I have used M205 and HD polish with success. But I ALWAYS follow my finial polishing up with 1-2 Eraser / IPA wipe-downs to make sure everything is clean and clear.

Use what you like, you have to wipe the paint off with eraser or the c quartz will not bond

25% ipa wipe down. At least thats what I did before 22PLE Pro.

They way I see it, if one isn't going to follow the manufacturer's directions, why bother buying the product in the first place?? It's kinda like building a house on sand without first shoring up the foundation - then later wondering why it didn't stay standing.

Are you working with a machine? Polishing paint is more of a process than something you "put on". Welcome to AGO! I can't wait to see the results.

PC7424XP is solid as a rock. Most will advise to go with the Griots version because it has more power. Whichever you go with, though, if you are bumping up from hand polishing to a DA machine the difference is going to be night and day.

PS, just buy it here. Autogeek will price match if you found a better deal elsewhere. :dblthumb2:

I have a PC7424 and it works great. My neighbor just bought the Harbor Freight Unit a few weeks back and it works as well or better than my PC at a fraction of the cost. I just can't stand how loud it is.

Anyway, I EXO'd my car not to long ago, and after polishing, I used a product they make called Panel Wipe and that worked very well. I'm sure you could use that for your application as well. Its about $12 for a bottle here on this site. Good luck.
