Best pop, deep and wet shine on a budget?

Ok, I'll be the first to say it--the cheapest way to get a deep wet shine is to polish the paint until it's deep and shiny--then it won't matter much what you put on top of it. Original poster--if you are trying to get car show looks, you gotta do the car show prep, if you're paint isn't up to it, that AutoGlym HD won't do it for you.
+1

:iagree: Good point.
Paint prep (polishing), IMO, is 85% (or more) of the process needed to obtain the 'shine' that's so desirous!

I use Autoglym HD and it find it looks kind of like a hard candy coating, not exceptionally deep. So I topped it with Gold Class and that helped. Autoglym does last well, been 4 months through the winter on our Pontiac Vibe and it still beads up really nice. Gold Class on it's own makes the paint nice and dark (2 months and still hanging on my Dark Blue truck, beading well). I've also found Meg's 26 is nice for dark cars (I've done a Megs 21 topped with 26 and that looks good and lasts a few months).

There are alot of good waxes out there that are less than 50$. I have had nothing but good experiences with the Collinites(845, 476, and 915), from just above freezing(845) to high 90s temp wise. And AGHD is great on dark colors. Just apply thin and wipe off after a couple of panels with a good MF. If you want to learn how to apply waxes thin, you should really try KSG or M16. I sometimes think that they should be part of a "waxing 101" course. They really reward technique, and can be a great learning tool. And yes, you can pick up M16 here and there( it is excellent on dark colors). Oh yeah, I had some issues with AGHD on an old non- clearcoat Mustang. Nothing terrible, just some streaking.

I can only speak for the Natty's Red. I have used it only on black and it worked great. I really liked the look.

I used DP Max Wax on a 4 of my black cars and I can't say enough about this product. The cars all still have a nice, deep, warm look to them even after a month of car washes (washed by hand not a car wash center. I still get nice beading and tons of compliments. Have a red car to do this weekend and I can give results and pictures after I'm done.
